Putco LED's

i have interior LEDlighting and LED brake and rear turn lights. only places they work for me. i just don't like the look elsewhere. and the amber ones i had weren't bright enough for my front turn signals either.

I've bought LEDs off of superbrightleds.com and off ebay. The ones off ebay are not quite as bright, but they work just fine. 10 LED bulbs for $.99 is hard to beat!

Putco LED's are high priced. I went with the 194 5 SMD LED inside and 9 SMD LED's only in the rear back seat side panels and one 5 SMD LED for the tag light and they turned out to be pretty bright. Got them off ebay in a 10 pack for under $10 I think and then the two 9 SMD LED's were around $10

Been in for a while now and not one problem with them.

I did have these on my halogen housings but when I swapped over to the LSC housings, I pulled the SMD side shiners off and when they're pulled off, they don't stick again. I changed back to my halogen housings and now have two sets of side shiners but haven't messed with them yet.

how long is the shipping on that. the display says us seller. however the persons profile shows him located in hong kong

Mine came from China or somewhere over there and did take almost 2 weeks but for the price, it's worth the wait.

@KStromberg

194's should work everywhere inside and the tag for you. In the pic above, that is a 5 SMD LED in my tag light and everywhere else inside except for the rear side panels and those are 9 SMD LED's but the same 5 SMD LED's would have worked and probably been just as bright.

Ok. Thanks man! :D

Now I'm still trying to figure out which ones to run in the door panels since that bulb is totally different.

A ten-pack will have you more than covered. Then you just need to find the right festoon-based bulbs for the door panels which is the mystery I am currently trying to solve.

10 was enough huh.. well hell i just ordered a 20 pack for 12.99 free shipping. I'm hoping its enough to do the entire dash and some of the interior lights. :)

8 in the interior, 1 plate, 1 trunk, 1 under hood, 1 glove box = 12
I have the 4 upper lights in the cabin 16 smd led's, the lower 4 are blue 5 smd led. I have 2 of the 5 smd led's and 1 blue in the trunk.
The blues are nice if your car is already blue inside and out.
I've been putting these in my Jeep and Blazer also, I have 4-48 led panels on the way just to play around with.

Kirk, the door light I think for a Gen 2 should be (Part Number: 168LL) and if so, the 194 will work fine. This is what it calls for but 194 fits too.

I have an extra pack of 10, well, maybe about 7 are in it and a few are lost under the tool box in the garage but I didn't even think about putting one in the glove box. Might just do that today and as for the trunk, I have an LED strip with 60 blue LED that are stuck to the metal so that they'll shine down onto the subs and the strip is connected to the trunk light connector, without the white bulb being in it so that when the trunk is opened, the blue strip comes on like an ordinary bulb would.

I had the garage lights on too but it lights the trunk up pretty good and evenly.

I put these in the reverse lights and they put out pretty good.

So received some of my LEDS today. was extreamly ticked off with one of the sellers i got them from. The whites i ordered a 10 pack and only received 1 single bulb. i was livied. i did get all 20 of my blue ones tho. ive got a couple pictures and a crappy video to show em off :) one of the pictures you can see the obvious difference in the led and the stock style bulbs. I was planning on putting the whites in all the uppers and on the license plate. if there was a spot under the hood for a bulb then that would get one as well. and maybe the trunk or id use the blue in the trunk havnt deciveded yet. This is the link to the ones i purchased for the white. I do not think i will order from them again. Hope stupid do you have to be to fill an order of 10 with just 1 bulb.

I just did my LED conversion tonight also on the 98. All of my bulbs are the 5-smd 194s. I put a total of 6 bulbs in the car. 2 in the map lights, 2 down at the floor, and 2 up high in the side panels in the back seat.

Here is my complaint. There are two thin wires on opposing sides of the base of the bulbs that made for a VERY feisty connection. I would not be surprised if I have issues with the connection in the near future. Here is what I am talking about:

Did anyone else have problems with the connection:confused:

NO CAN DO. Here is what the door panel bulbs look like:

I am still at a loss as to which exact bulb to get for the door panel as there are different size lengths but they would look something like this:
Festoon LED.jpg

So do I need to measure the length and convert to millimeters:confused:

If I start having issues with the connections on these I may switch over to a slightly different design in terms of the connection like these:

From initial impressions, I am not at all enthusiastic about the flimsy two-wire connection at the base of the ones I just put in the car.
