Putco LED's

that's what i have. ok so far. my roommate kicked one and it went out, but a quick wiggle and it came right back. that's all so far.

I should just say eff it and order these then. I really really do not like the ones I just put in the car. Light output, yes. Connection, NO! Horrible design in my opinion. Not to mention, after reading the seller's review on Ebay, there were a few complaints of "flickering" and I think this flimsy two-wire design at the base of the bulb is exactly the reason why.

yeah, that cheap wire could cause that. poor design. eh well.
i have some of those small wire ones. i mean, they are cheap soo.. lol.

NO CAN DO. Here is what the door panel bulbs look like:

So do I need to measure the length and convert to millimeters:confused:

well i stand corrected. I was pretty sure they were the same bulb in both gens. I wonder why they went with an old style bulb like that. in the door panel.

in regards to the 2 wire connection. its same as the stock bulbs that came out of em. the only issue i had when i was doing mine is if i put one in the wrong way and pulled it out i had one bulb where one wire sort of straightened out.

from what ive seen in researched the flicker isnt caused by the connections but caused by the voltage and mighr require a special cap that you plug the bulb into and then plug that into the socket.

EDIT:
your gen2 bulb is a festoon 561 bulb. 561 is also compatible with 562, 563, 212-2, and 211-2. Ive heard of people using 211-2 with success in the doors so theres your offical answer.

I bought these and put there everywhere on the interior; map, opera, floorboard, and door: http://www.ebay.com/itm/200764650918

They look great - it's so much nicer having the interior light up white instead of 'old yeller'.

I agree. The yellow look inside looks dated and it's highly unlikely that you'll step inside another car with the white lights.

@ Kirk, they make a SMD LED that will fit your door panel.

Maybe this one would be best, idk. 41mm? I don't have a Gen 2 handy to measure with.

As for the connection, I have only had one bulb give me a problem and it was the passengers side floor light. I wiggled it around and it would come on but since I had some extra bulbs, I swapped it for another and no more problems. All others feel tight to me and all work good.

Thanks Spree for the idea of putting one in under the hood. I have 6 or 7 left now and haven't put one in the glove box yet either. I rarely ever open it but I guess it can't hurt to put one there too. I'll have to check under the hood tonight when I can get it good and dark in the garage and see how good it lights it up under there. Can't be any worse than the normal bulb I took out. If so, I'll just put it back like it was.
