It's not always a waste to use premmie in a regular octane car. It does help slow the build up of carbon even though it does almost nothing to increase performance. But the cons outweigh the pros of that in cost terms.
why don't we all just stick 110 leaded in our vehicles, you wont get any preignition with that stuff

Not true, the additive packages are the same. In fact, some stations do not blend any ethanol to premium. Such as Shell. And ethanol is a pretty good cleaner.
