premium vs regular lol

If a car is not tuned right, premium can make up for it. But if a car is in good condition, its impossible to get better economy out of higher octane fuel.

Timing was right, had new plugs n wires and 135k on the truck. So nothing could be found wrong with it.

Would have liked to find out why it did what it did but I wound up trading it for a 86' GN so I was quite happy to let it go :p

you probably had an overly sensitive knock sensor in that car and kept pulling timing with regular gas.

hmm.. maybe it ran hot or was too lean (I know you were saying that it was tuned right but the distributor could have been a gear off internally)

I really can't think of anything else!

mark viii gets premium, fleetwood gets regular

mark viii sees 6500 rpm, fleetwood is lucky to see 2400-3000

slow and steady with the fleetwood

I just stick with what the manual says

Not a DD, and I always put in 93 during hotter months, but in colder months (like now) I will occasionally top off with 87-I rarely beat on it, and since the temp on the ultra gauge is rarely over 180 in the late Fall/Winter/early Spring, it makes no difference in performance or gas mileage.

I feel better when I put in 93, then I remember that I saved a few bucks in cooler weather and it did not have any effect on how it runs, so it's all good.
