Please talk me out of buying a blower.

Ya know there are soooo many things I like better about my Mark over my 03 Cobra except a couple real important ones.
When I get cut off in the Cobra I just mash the throttle and it lights em up and makes such a sweet sweet whine. Just sex! And it lets the person know that you are pissed as your tires spin while going around them and they hear that shrill scream comming from the car.... almost like the car is mad at them too. :lol:

So I started to think it wouldnt be too bad saving up for a used KB blower untill I realized I cant find any and dont think I have ever seen a "B" head used KB. :( I could save for the new one but that would take some time and since I am so impatient I would sacrifice allot over the next several months so I could have it ASAP.
I want the whine and the power and the torque! I loved that in the Cobra where the power was right frekin now! Now waiting for spool up or to find a power band, just raw power and right that moment. But then I think thats not smart for a DD to do that. Then I think if I keep it at 5-6psi and have a large meth tank and injection system then it would be safe and allow for 400 ish RWHP.


So please, just talk me out of it. Its too much money. And please dont argue over roots vs centrifugal as I dont want a centri. I also will not be doing "C" heads as I dont have the expertise to install and time them and cant have the car down that long.
 
svtperformance.com will be your best bet. I have seen a few, since I have been looking myself. I know one was for sale last week I think.

Dont think about that blower whine when you get one it....dont think about the flat torque curve....done think about how youll get a load of torque right where youll be at for most daily driving....dont think about how youll be able to make the guy in the GT next to you go WTF?!

It's just my nature.:gr_devil:

I have been leaning towards a Procharger or maybe a Novi. So it can grow with my build. As much as a love the whine, I also enjoy something that sounds like an F-16 getting ready to take off. :lol:
 
Now you have me wanting to do it. That is the only thought keeping me from buying a 6spd LS1 TA or Z28.

A guy in my town has a Procharger P-600 for a grand, but it needs a housing seal which means rebuild. I was interested in it until I read that.

Ya wanna know something really dumb? I am thinking about getting a mortage and buying that 98 CE with 3100 miles on it for $17 grand (he wants 19 but if I waved 17 in his face he would take it) and buy an Aluminator and a 6 speed. It would be the car of my dreams and be practically new. :)
 
I've read a lot of bad stuff regarding the Aluminator block. (Stuff to do with their cranks being too far back) Just Google it. Besides, the Teksid block is superior, anyway. (probably a moot point at the power level you're looking at, but it gives me a warm feeling inside :p)
