Found a 1997 T-Bird on CL that was a no start no crank issue for $300, mint interior, a little clear pealing on the exterior, needed front suspension and front brakes.

Got it home and it wound up being a loose ground, tightened it up and fired right up. Did a tune up, replaced both lca's and sway bar end links. Installed new front pads, and had an extra set of chrome 10 spokes laying in the garage from my midnight gray mark with brand new Michelin Hydro Edge's on them.

Got it all done, took it up to my buddies shop and aligned it. Bro's coming up tomorrow for his birthday and has no idea. Not bad for a day's work and a little under $600 invested. Hope he like's it :)

*Needs some tint and lowered, but not bad for a first car.

What a great brother you are.I wish i had a brother like that.Oh wait,I was that brother to my little brothers. He will always remember this birthday.

He's already asking about my black mark since he knows i have the gray one now too, not happenin lol...

It's a great little t-bird, only 140k on it and the interior is amazing! Heat and ac both work. Pretty much a turd with the v6, but it will serve him right.

I wouldnt want a 4.6 for a fresh driver anyway. I had a GT350 when I was 16 and while it was a wimpy 187hp I still caused hell in that thing.

I had an 85 Cougar with the 3.8 in it we painted it white pearl. Anyway very nice first car, I'm sure he'll be trying to race you.

man that thing actually looks awesome with the 10 spokes on it, great score dude, hope he takes care of it.

Damn good find and a very nice car for his first.

You did the same my brother would have done for me if I ever let him.

Went Awesome! He was shocked and pumped! Took it for a spin and showed him some basic maintenance stuff and he's ready to rock and roll. Told him if he stayed out of trouble and kept in excellent condition for 6 months, we'll lower it and get the windows tinted. He said "deal!"

id say if he keeps it running with that damn 3.8 for a year you should get him a real engine for it. ;)

i miss my old 97 sport. im not feeling the wheels, i probably feel the same way about mark wheels on a bird as people felt about bird wheels on my mark. still looks good for a starter car anyway

Yeah, it works for now. If he makes it a year, I may take on a 4.6 install. I've got two complete drivetrains with the wiring and computers in my garage right now.

Dang Dear! Little Bro smoked a dear last night, he's pretty pissed off. Told him not to worry, things happen. Just glad he's safe. Off to the junkyard!!
