Not Speedstars. (New Rims)

they dont look bad, but your stock little brakes make them look like they dont belong. maybe all you need to do is get some caliper paint and paint the calipers that will make a huge difference. maybe a nice silver caliper would look nice, i am a sucker for blue ones though i like blue calipers.

im not painting mine blue, nope...ok maybe later when i rebuild them

thanks..Think ima stick in that range...My last car was 5% all around and i hated trying to back out of places at night.

yes, i was in a tug between the chrome and hyper black, do you have pics? I am interested in seeing them.

i dont have any quality pics yet, ill work on getting some together. i have had chrome rims in the past, and decided to go a different direction this time. i do like the chrome though

its a cheapy car, its 2010 not 1998.

exactly. speedstars are nice but they are heavy, expensive, and a LOT of people have them. the mark crowd seems to be full of purists, they all want their cars to look the same!

When I got my Speedstars there was only one other active member on here with them. Yeah a couple people that never showed up had them but nobody ever saw them. Then Jamie got his and all the sudden everyone had them. :(

On the other hand I have yet to see another Mark in person with them and mine are the very first set ever made. :D

hey i wasn't knockin you laser, theyre great looking wheels. i just wanted to go a different direction. just out of curiosity, what do yours weigh with the rubber?

Didnt think you were knocking them, they look bad ass. :p But yeah allot more people seem to have them now and I like to have something diffrent.

As to weight...... a lot. I think they were 56lbs each with rubber.

wow, that is even more then i had anticipated. thats about twice what mine weigh:D now i understand why you upgraded to the big brakes

ya the sterns seems to be pretty light compaired to the mustang rims that I already had on it, which defenetly slowed the car down. I am not sure how much the sterns weigh, but when I take them back off when I park this for winter, I will have to see.

copy cat :shifty: and i agree they seem "played out" on here but i also havnt seen another set in person

i have 0% on the back and 1/4s, thats why im gettin a camera...among other reasons

my wheels are on the car because i bought the car with them! i dont care how many marks i see with speedstars i never get sick of them. like bill said, i have yet to see another mark in florida with them, so everyone who sees my car around here doesnt say, oh look, another mark with speedstars! honestly only the hardcore mustang guys locally know what my wheels are, the average joe doesnt have a clue. when i get my taxes back this year i am seriously thinking about buy a brand new set of them, and putting them on my 97, then taking mine now and putting them on my wifes 98, but she likes these and so do i, so i am leaning toward these for her car....

I agree with James. I get so many compliments on my wheels its rediculous. Also its only the real die hard Stang people that know what they are. Most other people think they are Cobra wheels. I hear that way more often. "Dude, I like those Cobra wheels!"
But they all say the same thing, "Never seen a Mark done up like that" and thats before I pop the hood. :D

Long as you are pleased then mission accomplished. I dont like alot of sharp lines on a wheel myself. Smooth curves do it for me for whatever reason. Enjoy the new look.

With respect to weight...A cast alum. wheel compared to the same exact size and width cast wheel is going to be VERY close in weight. Only way to lighten them up is to use a forged process or go with a smaller wheel. However to compare a 18X7.5 with a 18X9 with respect to weight and be surprised at any differance would only mean you are not too sharp...heh

ya I dont like the sharp lines either, I was originally looking at speedstars but they were $250 more than these and thats not counting the shipping for the speedstars
