I woke up on Friday, and had an email from my local junkyard telling me that they just put out a 1998 Mark VIII. Yeah, they do that. Freakin' awesome sauce...


Anyway, I had the day off, so I headed out there to see what they put out. Got there and immediately saw the front end of a 98 black/black LSC! yay! First time I've ever personally seen a black LSC in the junkyard, and also the first time I've ever personally seen a 98 midnight black interior in the junkyard.


I *almost* felt sorry for the car for what was about to happen to it... :p

Did it have a good drivers seat plastic? That piece thats cracked on most of our cars. I reallly want one. Also in the market for a nice steering wheel.
 
I wish my local junkyards would call me when Mark VIII's showed up. I would quit parting them in my yard. lol
 
i would love to change the door panels, dash, console and rear 1/4 trim to that black, and leave the front and rear seats and carpet light graphite in my 98 lsc, i think that would look cool. or the opposite, just change the seats in the front and rear and just the steering wheel to black and leave the rest all gray.

If the seat bezel was in good shape, it would be mine, and the steering wheel looked like Edward Scissorhands used to drive it.

Yeah, I was pretty amazed when I found out about that. You just register with them, and they send you an email whenever they get a car in that fits your pick.

look on the bottom right corner of the first pic. That's what I got of them. The cupholder arms were ok, but that piece was separated from the assembly. Also, the ashtray door had the two "bosses" that hinge it on the sides broken off. I still grabbed it though.

That being said, I'm not a real big fan of selling the midnight black pieces. I don't come across them very often, so I like to save them.
 
Jeeez... wish I had seen this sooner. I'd buy those doorpanels in a second. (just to be sure.. they are the grey ones?... look like it but the pic is kinda dark) Prob. gone already though. ;(

They're actually 98 Midnight Black door panels, and I'm pretty sure they're going into my personal stash...
