Mines been feeling off lately, kinda loose. I can tap the gas from inside and the cable will jiggle/flop around before it does anything.

A little to much slack? (Just lifted it with mah fingure/No pulling)

If so, how do you tighten it up? I read directions that pertained to a 93 but nothing for a g2.

Mine got loose once while I was doing my spark plugs. Turned out, it was not connected to the spring. That MIGHT be your problem as well.

It has tension. I've just never payed much attention to it, so I just want to make sure what i'm seeing is normal.

I'd imagine if it was indeed stretched out that it would show slack w/o me having to lift it up..

Think of it this way...the tighter that cable is, the quicker your pedal to throttle response will be...too tight and it'll keep the throttle partially on.

If nobody replies with one tonight, ill load you an exploaded pic of the adjustment assembly tomorrow

That would be much appreciated.

The real issue to look for is if the throttle plates are all the way open when the go pedal is mashed to the floor. ;)

Sorry man, got cars in my shop.

Crawled in my 98 and checked out the cable, there's no adjustment. There's a couple of things you can try for a fix.

1: tie a knot in the cable under the Hood, but not to where the knot would sit in the cables channel on the throttle

2: Remove the cables bracket from the firewall, then you push the cable collar out of the pedal, just push from the back with your finger and it'll pop out, slide cable out of pedals hole and pull cable thru firewall. Then remove the crimp from the end of the cable, adjust to desired length and crimp back on. Most people can't remove them without damaging them, you can buy new cable crimps in the Help section of your auto store

I'd say by the look of your pic, your stretched about 1/8-3/16"

Yeah, once I let go of the wire it appears to have just a little bit of slack on the upper portion the lever. Not really sure if it's even worth messing with at this point. Last thing I need is for something to break.

Thanks for the help.

If the cable falls off just driving around, tighten it up...its really not that hard. The replacement cable crimps have a little screw to tighten them where you want them

Oh! Well there's gonna be some slack in it...you should be able to take it off with just your fingers...its probably OK if it doesn't fall off by itself
