Noob here : ) Exhaust/smell question

Interesting MARK. I have a feeling this thread will be on top for some time. You have our attention & now all of us want to find out more about your car.

All I know for sure is the woman who sold it to me was selling this one and a 1995 in gold. Both were parked at a mall near my house with for sale signs on them. The title is in a mans name and it is signed. I bought this one because it was the nicer of the two and had lowrer miles on it. She said this on had had all kinds of work done to it but couldn't give details as to exactly what. It also had some spare parts in the trunk with a list of what they were and saying that they were rare. When I picked it up she had another set of seats that she said were the originals and 2 windows for it that were supposedly the originals too. I passed on seats and glass cause they were different than the ones in the car that are in good condition.

Other than that there is the exhaust smell. When I called today she got upset and hung up. I think kustomizingkid is right. I don't think I will call and bother her again.

That's FuKd up. I've been breezing past this thread all day. I sincerely hope that what we're speculating about didn't actually happen. Although the last thread did seem to end abruptly. Any way it goes. That car had some substantial mods done to it.

I ask because we can't rule this sad theory out based on the IP addresses.

When I seen the emblems and the exhaust sticking out the back, I knew who's it was. I have been in Florida buying another Mark and haven't bothered clicking the link about the smell until now. Pictures tell a thousand words.

Really hate to see that he took that route but the thought of walking one day and then completely losing your legs and never being able to walk again must be more than any of us could imagine.

I agree about not calling the lady again. I'm sure she's been through more than she can handle in the past month or so. Just wipe the seats down with a good leather cleaner and then clean the carpet real good and that exhaust smell will be gone. You may need to also replace the headliner too. The smell probably got into it just as it did with the carpet.

Let's not jump to any conclusions.
This should be something that can be fairly easily resolved and investigated.

Calabrio check your PMs I just sent you one.

Guys I found a business card for the previous owner of the car. It was for an auto shop here in Maryland. I stopped by there today to try to find out about the car and the owner. They informed me that unfortunately he did pass away on January 12 :( They did say that he had a stroke from a blood clot related to his recent injury. So it WAS NOT self inflicted.

They told me alot about the car and the former owner and said he was a really good guy. They said he was only 30 years old. I dont know how may people here knew him or anything. I promised them I would take care of his ride for as long as I have it.

:q:q:q:q.. that sucks. :( :( :(

Enjoy the car, drive it like you stole it.

It was cold, maybe they just were running it (with the door closed or mostly closed) to keep the engine fresh and battery charged before selling it and got side tracked.

It's very sad what happened to Leonard.
However, I'm glad that his car is in good hands, and that the car doesn't have any creepy stigma to it.

Im sure that is what must have happened. They said the car sat for awhile between his injury and when he decided to sell it. Im glad the stigma is gone too. Although it still has that odd VIN# : / Im thinking of going back and buying the other one too to make sure they both find good homes. He seemed to care about them I would hate to see somebody destroy the other one.

Wow, my thoughts are with his family.....that could have been any of us. Live everyday like its your last......cause you will never know when it will be.

i knew there was something familar with that car....

sorry to hear the previous owner is no longer with us.

Beautiful car, tragic background. TAKE CARE OF IT FOR HIM. Leave the exhaust alone if it is LMS. I can only hope my cars wind up in someones hands who will care for them like I do.
