Modern Warefare 2

I bought my 8 year old, both PS3 and the newest X-Box that's out. I gave away the white X-Box and he wants it back lol. He keeps telling me he lost all of his games that were saved or something. I don't play them but... he does good in school and that's what he likes to do. I might have the kid a bit spoiled with his setup but I'm only having one kid and I want him to have the things that I never had. As for getting online with either of the consoles, I'm not doing that just yet because of his age but I bet with the hours spent, he could put a beat down on some of y'all if he did come online. His new X-Box has a built in wireless connection and I didn't even know this when I bought it. That's how much I know about them. Below is what he plays on and he also has DTV with all channels in HD and a Sony DVD and everything is connected with HDMI cables. The TV is a Phillips 47" with a 2ms response time and the 120 Hz. I guess next will be a LED TV but for now, this is all he's getting. When he does get online, I'll be sure to let you know what his name is to see if you can beat him.

chicken, if it were up to me, I would say fukkem both lol. I don't like neither of them but he never had a problem with the white X-Box 360 and never a problem with the PS3 and believe me, he has many many hours invested in both. The newest X-Box isn't old enough to speak about yet. $60 for a game is what sucks and he's always asking for a new one.

I snagged his 2nd one off ebay fairly cheap. It was new and unopened when I got it here. I just can't remember who I got it from. I'll check for the ebay seller and let you know. I still have to get him an extra one for the X-Box too. He has friends that come over sometimes and it keeps them from being left out.
 
Thanks NoLimit, I ran into a few extra dollars, I think I am going to go and buy 1 in a few minutes. Is anyone getting on MW2 today?

Mw2! Black-ops is due for release anytime..I would prob hold off on buying mw2 unless you really want it.
 
shiat! lol my bad! lol I'll prob be on tonight but late, as I work till 11pm Est. If no one is playing I run a lil Fifa 10 before bed..but as soon as the g/f comes back from school at the end of the month..no more late night gaming :( lol

and sorry about the wrong info, my son just informed me that it was Nov 9th when it will be released. I looked it up to make sure and he was right. I didn't want you to be a day late. :D

I do need an opinion though. Since he is 8 years old and yes, I understand that it has language and what not in it but he's not the type of kid to go out and repeat what he hears. He just plays the game and the games that I can turn off cursing, I make him do it and I let him know that if I walk through and hear something, he won't have that game anymore. Now, if I let him get online, will he be into something that he really shouldn't be or would it be pretty much the same? If it's going to be the same, I'll get him online for 3 months at first, just to see how it goes. If they sell a card with a less amount of days, I'll try that out first and if it's all good, I'll just get him the year subscription and be done with it. Does the PS3 have built in wireless card or is the new X-Box 360 the only one that has that?

on xbox, you can mute who ever you want in the game, so if someone is swearing and you don't like it, just click on the name and hit mute

not sure on the wireless card on the ps3 since i don't have one and they have a 1 month subscription for xbox live i think
 
Ps3 has built-in Wifi and you can actually select in the audio options to not hear any chatter from other sources such as other players or you can in game mute them also. Only the new xbox which NoLimit has built in Wifi, the old 360's don't you have it you would have to buy a wireless adapter.(sucks) As for the MW saga it's all the same game different story lines somewhat newer guns..Blackops is being made by Treyarch same makers of World@War

I'm on MW2 as my screen name on here. Only thing is my PS3 got the YLOD and it's stuck in the machine until I fix it. I said F#ck it and bought the new slim one about two weeks ago. Playing MW1 until I get MW2 out of the old PS3.
 
Lea it's so easy..youtube it. The company I work for has a gaming department and they deal with repairs I see these guys gut a system in less than 5 minutes. Also on youtube there are other methods of trying to eject, have you tried those?

If not all you would need is a L-key and a screwdriver set with different sizes.

And from speaking with the game lab techs and looking over the motherboard of both ps3 and xbox360's..Xbox's are a piece of MS crap..Very poorly made with three variations of Mobo's Ms made and still can't correct their overheating/graphics issue.. Can't wait to see the new xbox 360's to show up lol

All PS3 have a built in WiFi except the very first 20 GB models. PS3 has free online so no subscription fees. The only thing you need to worry about are messages sent by other players. If he stomps them online, the messages can get pretty rude. And IDK if you need a mic to hear other people online, if you don't, then just mute all players. I don't play MW2 so I don't know how that game works but for GTA IV you can only hear people who have mics.
 
Thanks, I didn't know the PS3 he has had wi-fi but I did find out that the X-Box 360 I just got him had it. He plays the PS3 more so maybe I'll get him online with it and tell him to mute out everyone. He's been raising hell about not being able to do some kinda campaign lol. I buy him the games the same day they come out and he completes them within 3 to 5 days. If he wants to see how to do something, he watches it on youtube and then he goes back to the game and knows what he has to do. Feels like a waste when I buy it one day and then he's done with it within a week but it may be because he can't get online and do more than he could alone, idk.
