Forward lifting hood. Not sure if I like it or not. Found it on cardomain. Second picture is of the new paint job on the same LS.

Well it's different. I think it would be difficult to do anything with the way the grill is in the hood. Also don't like the hood pins.

Exactly. Not digging those flames at all. IT doesn't even have the top of the grille painted to match the paint on the flames.
 
Are those hood pins even functional ? Ugly anyway. One of the things i like about the '03+ is the removal of the windshield washer sprayers from the hood. Cleans it up alot. Also that paint job looks pretty crappy. Its a better job than i could do but still kinda cheap looking. The chrome rocker panels are ugly too. Lets hope it stays that its a mod that nobody else has.

P.S. I think he stole my blacked out foglight idea. j/k
 
Agreed ugly. The hood pins look funtional and were probably necessary after the mod to secure the hood closed.
 
That's funny. I just saw that on car domain yesterday and thought about posting it here. I kinda like the look of the forward hood if it didn't have the hood pins. The flames definitely look like ass though.
 
First of all that looks ridiculous. Secondly, functionality is out the window. The flames are ok but ghost flames would have looked better. Maybe next they'll put a carriage top on it. I'm sorry but I'm not impressed with that.
 
i know the guy.. seen him on cardomain.. he'll sell u the hinge if u want it for cheap.. me personally.. i dont like the hood or the flames.. but to each his own..
 
i'm not sure if i like the hood but i know i don't like the paint. it looks real bad around the grill and doesn't go well on that car. possibly on a white or silver one but not black.
 
I can't say that I see any practicality in a forward lifting hood (It will be funny when the JiffyLube guys try to lift it up like a normal hood though.

Boo on the flames!
 
personally I absolutely HATE HATE HATE HATE ANY chrome siding on any LS. It is probably the tackiest, most ghetto thing you could do to an LS. You might as well put up some curtains in the back window! hahaha.

As far as the forward lifting hood...why?? I've seen it when there is a wicked paint job on the hood or when the engine is TRICKED OUT but to be honest, the only engine bay that really looks impressive is Quiks LS and it would look retarded with a front lifting hood...IMHO...and that paint looks terrible...the only flames I ever condoned were the ghost flames someone had that were hardly noticeable...

If you know the guy you should send him a link to this thread. I'd love to see his reaction. Does he enter car shows ? Does he ever win or even place ? Tell him he needs a refund for that paint job. I am going to stop calling those flames. They remind me of some wizard or Dungeons and Dragon stuff. Awful.

The picture with the flames looks like the car is trying to get away from the paintjob. As far as the hood, leave it to the Corvettes.
 
i think flames look great on a '55 chevy 210 or bel air,and custom pickups.

my personal favorite is in the fireplace;they kind of give you the "full effect"!
 
flames have got to go, those do not fit the style of the car at all, but i have had a lot of criticism on my paint too and that its too drastic so its all in what you like, but hey its unique!
