Has anybody else noticed Mark VIII prices climbing lately ? It looks like it to me. On eBay and CL.

they have trust me i've been shopping for one for the last year, and ive seen them do nothing bet get more and more exspensive. across the country well on yahoo, ebay,cl,and auotrader a few other places but these are usually best i see in regards to automotive searching.

They seemed to take a big nose dive about 2 years ago, so maybe a bit of correction in the market..

very possible. I got my 97lsc 3.5 years ago w/125k for 3k..Needed 400 bucks worth of repairs (mainly steering/susp) and little misc thing inside. Seems like dudes w/93's are lookin for as much now. Maybe i just got lucky.

ur right but if u find one that needs help them yea pay about 900.00 and up for iti say that i was talking to a guy here in charlotte for a green gen 2 and he wanted 700.00 but he had it listed for parts only and for the whole car he was asking 700.00 but he didnt want to sell the whole car like he was listing it as parts but at 700.00 but o well he was not a good sales guy i had the cash in hand and he didnt budge

not sure i attempted to purchase a 98ls with every option from major dealership for 2300 in chicago during last deployment.(roughly 3 years ago)

I'll bet they replied through their mobile devices and used Text shorthand. But I agree, at least try to speak and write right. I use short hand on my cell too but I have the words auto correct themselves; I write 'R' and it converts it to 'are'. Easy to set up and you can text fast and have normal words. WTF. IMHO Lazy americans and their shorthand.

I agree, the prices for parts are climbing slightly around the Holidays.
however, they are asking higher prices but, that doesnt mean the stuff is selling. most of the cars and parts are re-listed over and over again because they dont sell.

nope sorry was in a rush didn't proof read. as i was saying roughly 2-3 years ago i found a 98 lsc for $2300 with every option i could think of. it was also in a major dealership in the area so i assume thats was an inflated price.

+1... There's 2 factors playing a role here, the holidays & the rarity of the car itself. The fact is these cars are indeed becoming more rare every day however right now? I don't think they are selling at all! NO ONE WANTS A MARK VIII.

Think about it, unless you are an enthusiast like we are, why would you own a problem proned high maintenance 13-19 year old vehicle?
Air Suspension issues, blend door issues, VCRM issues, seat track issues, stereo antenna issues, anti-theft alarm issues, cup holder problems, expensive HID issues, IAC sensor malfunctions, gas smell from fuel filters, etc...
These are things that we deal with here on the forum but to an average owner, they DONT want to deal with these problems. The majority of people like simplicty. They rather drive a piece of crap YARIS or Corolla than these higher end cars. This is why they are so cheap compared to other cars. I wish they were recognized more for their rarity than their problems though.

Everywhere I go people smile & tell me; "Wow, it's in beautiful shape, how many times have you had to fix the suspension?" :(

Yeah they seem to fluxuate a little. My 97 LSC had 103K on it and was in excellent shape, two owner and it was $2700 back in 2008. My 98 was a one owner and had 84K on it with a moonroof and I paid $3700 or $3800..... I forget. That was 10 months ago.

If all you jokers parting them out keep it up, there will only be three or four left. That might boost prices a few hundred more. ;)

I think we've seen a slight increase in ALL used car values, speculatively, that may be do to inflation and the "Cash for Clunkers" program.

However, Mark VIII prices aren't climbing.
If you think so, compare a '93 Mark VIII price to that of a '93 Honda anything.
That little $16k Honda is probably worth 4x more than the $40k Mark VIII right now.

Ten years ago I paid 10K for my 94 Mark with 29K miles off the original owner and I still have the car.

I fixed my air suspension once using SLIME and it's still holding a year later and that's even after driving cross country towing 6000 lbs. I paid $2500 for my 97 LSC last year with 66k on the clock and it was a garage queen.
