I ordered a rear brace from SCP and it took 2 weeks to get here, I have one day a week... sometimes I can get some work done on my car. I really wanted the front braces that Laser did so..... $80 in steel, a few hours later and some welding... TaDaaa.. I made my own.
Not as good looking as the originals but they will do!

Now, this is the kind of thing I like to see! :)

Great job!

$80 for steel???
After looking at Lasers I figured the steel to run about $14, then the time to weld them up (15-20) minutes and paint and install

Nice work thou, I plan on making mine soon

Man those are great! Care to share the Dimensions? I want to build some!

$80 for the project I should have said, Steel, Paint, Grade 8 hardware, and some anti spatter spray&tips for my MIG... cuz I was out. so yeah... $80 for the project.

the tubing is 1x1 structual grade. the rears are about 9 1/4" long the fronts are 12". I used 3/16 on the frame mounts and 1/8 on the bar ends.

I'll try these out for a while and see if they have any stress signs. I think I might try a solid piece of 1 or 1 1/2" DOM .120 round tube from the rear mounting point to the front, cup it out for the LCA and make the mount for the engine cradle out of 3/16 and bridge the back side of the cupped area for the LCA.

I just went out and took the car off the jack stands... Holy stiffness Bat Man!! I cant believe the difference. 0 body flex! I cant wait to drive it and test it out. raining today so it may have to wait.

Great job!

I got caught in that rain this morning....and hail... I'm scared to go out and look at my car.

I just took it out, its fantastic! I second Lasers post on this being a must have!

Looks ok, Its dirty "dam black cars" but I cant see any damage.

No kidding sounded like all hell was breaking loose, no overpass to hide under.

Dam 97MarkJA, it sounds like you could sell a few of these, you test it out yet?

Nut.. you're local.. I'd like to try a one piece, KK said he wanted to add some to his car. We could buy a 20' stick of 1" or 1 1/2... .120 DOM and give a shot. it would have to be cupped and welded for the LCA. dont really see an issue with that seeing as that is where the middle brace would go for the engine cradle.

Hell.. I still need to put my intake on... and put the rear end in with the poly bushings. and my wheels... and my exhaust!... Damn
I did get my rear diff brace in the mail today, bought it off a cobra forum.... Cheap.
Now the rear end has new bearings, seals, gears, rebuild Trac Lok, and rear brace.
