Ls "fail"

He switched to some pretty nice tips. I wanna step on those and crack a whip like Im on a dog sled when I see it though.:D

If you wanted to use an LS as a wheelbarrow, that's how you'd do it.

To go WAY off topic for a minute:

The "hazing" you speak of can be avoided if someone "lurks" for a while, learns the way the board behaves, and actually learns the "search" function before posting.

Learning the way the board behaves would save you some of the hazing, because you would see how this is a more conservative site. We tend to be more "purist" when it comes to the LS. We are more secure individuals (at least the regulars on here, I can't speak for everyone) that don't need a bunch of flashy crap for attention. It's the subtle styling cues that radiate good taste, not 22" choppas and the brightest paint color you can find.

So when someone posts about some flashy accessory that sticks out like a sore thumb, the general consensus here will be disapproval.

Also, petty insults from a new member towards a more seasoned member are not something that will get you very far here (i.e. bringing someone's family/children into an argument). Bad form isn't going to be accepted by anyone here; in fact, bad form is what probably initiated the hazing to begin with.

More like "elitest" then "purist". Some members here take to much delight in bashing someone elses taste. A little more restraint is needed. In other words "if you can't say anything nice, then don't say anything at all". Just my $.02. But I have seen this same behavoir destroy other car sites.

What excitely makes one a "seasoned" member? How long they have been a member? Or the number of post they have?

Not trying to be a PITA. Just pointing something out.

True in some cases, but not this particular one. Did you read the previous threads in reference to this particular post of mine? Things got way out of hand. rePete made some very serious insults towards another member's family, namely their children. If there is anyone you need to preach etiquette to, turn your comments his way.

a "seasoned" member is one who knows how the board operates, and how things around here flow (what is accepted behavior, and what is not). It has nothing to do with number of posts or length of time being a member.

I agree that "elitist" would be a more correct term. I was having trouble finding a good describing word, and you pretty much nailed it with elitist.

I completely agree that more restraint is needed. I love it when a member says "That makes your car look gay, no offense." If they didn't mean to offend, they would put it in less offensive terminology. They seem to think they can just add "no offense" to anything, and it takes away the blatant bashing. Not the case.

Man, you're a pain in the ass. Look at all this typing that could've been avoided :p

I wasn't trying to single you out. You just happen to have brought up the topic. Nothing personal. the "elitest" title isn't something we need to be known for thou.

There is never a good reason to bring anyones family into an arguement. Arguements get personal enough. Bringing ones family into it. Takes it to a whole new level. But taking into account the average of our members. It seems stupid for any arguements ot get as bad as they do here.
