Yeah, I hear ya. He bought it to tow the 11 second Regal T-Type to the track on a car trailer. It's a trailer king for a trailer queen. :D

I agree!! Mine tows my boat and the occasional Mark VIII's Elliott and I buy. It's also nice to know that if I wanted to I could beef it up a bit to make it faster.

Okay, let's see:

1967 Fairlane Fastback: 2 years
1967 Thunderbird: 1 year
1982 Mustang Ghia hatch: 24 hours
1980 Mustang coupe: 4 yrs
1978 Mustang King Cobra: 1 yr
1979 Lincoln Town Coupe: <1 year
1962 Lincoln Continental: 5yrs
1971 Lincoln Continental: 3 yrs
1962 Mercury Comet S-22 Coupe 144 I-6/2-speed air cooled auto: <3 yrs
1988 Thunderbird Turbo Coupe: 4 yrs
1987 Mustang Hatch 2.3L 5-speed T-Tops: 3yrs, sold, bought back (added T-Bird Turbo suspension): 2 yrs
1969 Mercury Cougar 351-W auto: 3 yrs
1986 Ford Crown Vic (ex-police car): 1 yr
1979 Toyota Truck (20R/Auto/Long bed/2wd): 7 yrs
1985 Chrysler Fifth Avenue (318 auto): 5 yrs
1987 Thunderbird Turbo Coupe: 2 yrs
1993 Thunderbird Sport 5.0: 3 yrs
1995 Yamaha FZR600 Sport Bike: 2 yrs
1988 Lincoln Town Car: 4 yrs
1986 Lincoln Town Car: 2 yrs
1988 Ford Ranger 2.0 5-speed 2wd: 4 yrs
1994 Ford Explorer 4x4: 4 yrs
1996 Lincoln Mark VIII: 10 yrs
1997 Lincoln Mark VIII LSC: 2 yrs

There have been several more, but that's all I can remember off the top of my head right now. I've had a bunch of cars that I bought just to sell and only kept for a month or two. That was back in the 90's and hard to remember. But the ones listed are the most memorable of my vehicles (I didn't list the '96 Cobra because that's my wife's car:D)

My God thaywood.... The car you kept the longest was the question. Not every car you bought, sold, rode in, inherited, etc.... :D

I wouldn't race it. I just like the fact that is much peppier than my Expedition with the 5.4 and gets 22 MPG on the highway and has more bells and whistles than my wife's '08 Cadillac SRX.

Regardless of what they say on the mpg 22 is a stretch. Guy the works for me just went out to Wyoming towing 4 4wheelers on a sled trailer, it avaeraged 12.
Plenty of power and never missed a beat.

Holy crap, man. You've had some sweet rides!

Let's see. For me, it's more or less which car I bought first, since MOST cars I've owned I still have, just because I'm either too attached to the car to sell it, or the car is so ran down by the time I get through with it, that it's not even worth enough to bother selling it lol.

1978 Ford Bronco 400: less than 1 year, which I sold to pay for:
1982 Thunderbird Town Landau 255: 2001-present
1972 Lincoln Continental Mark IV 460: 2001-present
1986 Honda Civic 1.5: 2002-2002
1981 Mustang 2.3: 2002-present
1993 Mark VIII: 2004-present
1991 Ranger 2.3: (Dad bought new in 91) 2005-present
1994 Honda Accord H22-swapped: 2006-2007
1996 Jaguar Vanden Plas 4.0: 2007-present
1995 Thunderbird 4.6: 2011-2011

I think that's pretty much it, besides all the parts cars I've had over the years.

I am never going to sell my town car, hell never going to sell any town car I ever own again. I traded one in once, and I still regret it. Also if I can take my parents 98 Lexus LX470 off their hands I am going to clean it up, redo the whole interior and never sell that thing either. It has too many miles for a daily but perfect for a nice luxury show truck. 200,000 miles on all original drivetrain. Everything else I get tired of pretty quickly.

It's a truck,

not a car, but still have it since sometime before 1980, so... over 32 years:

1962 Ford F-100 Custom Cab Uni-body w/ a 292 c.i. V8, 3-on-the-tree

Traded a ragged-out '62 Triumph TR4-A for it, and haven't regretted it since. It has alum. Western mag wheels, and I got it painted red on white, and the seat and headliner re-covered right after I got it. (needs it again now) LOVE that old truck... Unibody makes it look tuff!

I'd like to see a couple of pics of that truck. I've only seen a couple of the unibody 62's in my life. They're really rare and hard to come by. Hold on to it.

:)Believe it or not, I have actually owned each and every one of those vehicles. And the only ones I "inherited" were the '85 Chrysler and '79 Toyota. There have been several more, but I can't remember them all. Those are just the ones that I was the most fond of:D

thaywood,

Sorry it took me so long. First I had to get a round tuit, then find the last photos I took (last count I have 14,488 photos on this computer, turns out it was in 2009), then make a Photobucket account and figure that out, but finally... here they are! That's my '73 C-10 stepside in the background. ;)

Wish I could find/scan the 1980-ish photos, just after the paint job (w/ Amerflint).

Cool! That is a tough looking truck! Just needs a good coat of paint and a little TLC. I've only seen a couple of these unibody Ford trucks in my life. A neighbor of mine had a blue one when I was in high school. I don't know what ever happened to it. If I'm not mistaken, 1962 was the only year of this bodystyle. BTW, what kind of wheels are those?

Cleaned her up a bit. Whaddaya think?

Lets see Ive owned my 2002 LS since 07 so thats 13 years now, and the Mark that I sold a year and a half ago I owned since 2010 so that was maybe 8 years. I like to keep cars in good shape and running so they can last me a long time.
