No problem. Don't forget that you'll have to slot the holes in the cross-member to make it fit.

Yeah when I go to scrub down everything ill throw it in the vice and make the changes. :)

You might want to wait until you actually have the mount attached to the transmission, so you can see exactly what needs to be done. ;)

i washed down derek's entire rack and k member when i had it out, the spindles, the abs rings and sensors in the front, the trans cross member, the oil pan, p.s pump, whatever i could, the trans case, it was 1000 times nicer putting all that clean stuff back in, than it was taking it out, his oil pan gasket was leaking before he destroyed the head, so it worked out good because i cleaned everything, the bottom of his front end was caked in oil and dirt it looks so much nicer under the car now. its worth cleaning it all. bill i tried this new stuff in a gallon jug this :q:q:q:q is the bomb i will look at it and tell you exactly what its called i used to use concentrate purple power this stuff blows that garbage away!

I gave him a half gallon of concentrated Simple Green...should make like 15 gallons or so..but I usually add heavy and only get 5 or 6 gallons worth..

The bad part about Bills engine bay is..for some odd reason...the guy that sold that car to the first owner..was an :q:q:q:q:q:q:q enough to talk them into doing the under coating..and I only say this because
1) this is Texas..we don't have winters
2) it's a white car, and the coating is black
3) this is Texas...and we still don't have winters

whoever did the under coat job got alot of over spray into the engine bay..it's gonna be tough to get that stuff off.

And what the what are you doing with things in a vise something about a trans mount?? Since I puttin some BSTs in your car I at least deserve to know...Mr.Secretkeeper

dude for the undercoating, get a brush that they put in a parts washer tank, and fill a small can up with gas, or acetone and brush it into the undercoating, just keep the f-ing flames away from the gas if you use that, thats what i would use to eat the undercoat off fast and unless it catches on fire, it isnt going to hurt anything, the car is outside, its well vented, this is just my suggestion. these brushes work awesome.

I always clean everything before putting it back together... and if I have time I like to clean an engine bay before working on it... dirt and grease ftl...

His car..honestly..for a daily driven car, is very clean. I'm sure with all the lecturing he's already been out there scrubbing away at something..rofl

dude, I'm gonna have to remember to bring Need for Speed - Carbon next weekend...you'll have to practice on the PS3, sitting in a car with MOVING scenery

and thanks for the brush tip, I'll have to grab a spare from my parts table

also if you have a spray bottle made for solvents you can use lacquer thinner, 3M atr, anything like that. Make continually passes spraying the wheel well letting it sit for a while inbetween. Just not long enough to dry out before you spray it again. It will soften all that undercoating up and you can scrape it right off with a plastic squeegee. Then just wipe the last of it off with a rag.

- bill-

did u recieve the motor yet? hows everything down in FL? all is well i hope

lsc8 is teh devil (his post count is 666)

94BLU8 will be teh devil in 5 (661 post count)

No, the motor was shipped today and should be here Friday.

I dont live in FL.

So anywho, I was getting geared up to do the cleaning and painting of the valve covers but realized I dont have any scrub pads for the k-member and suspension components nor did I remember to pick up the clear spray to finnish the valve covers.

Since I dont have a ride I am gonna have to figure out someting. I can get the clear on Saturday I think but need some scrub pads to clean up the car.

wow not the devil but Bill- if u were to do ur suspention all over again bill who would have u bought all ur parts from and would u do ur inner/outter tie rods again?

Max for bags/struts and Rock Auto for the rest of the stuff. The tie rod question makes no sense. If they are bad then you replace them.

I am so glad I get my commercial discount...I can get uca/lca in TRW from Advance for $110

So as is par for my course, Jamie had to be on the road and left the shipping paperwork with a co-worker. As my luck would have it he went to lunch at the same moment they came to get the motor and nobody else knew where the paperwork was so the motor didnt go out today. That meens its a 95% chance it will not make it here by Friday so prolly cant slap it back in this weekend. :(

So I went to go scrub down some parts of the car. The engine bay is a litle bit of a lost cause. If the motor does not get here then I can afford some cleaning stuff next week to maybe get the undercoating over-spray off on the visable areas.

Its not near show car clean but being that its a daily, it will get dirty pretty fast again.

my boss tried calling me today too bill to see where the bill of lading was but i was welding an entry gate on site and my phone was in the truck it was far too late when i saw i missed his call, the driver said he'll be back in the am to get it, now the whole shop knows the bill of lading is right next to the time clock in the office so now any of the 5 guys in the shop can take care of it this time, i was rushed out today and though steve could have handled it by himself, what are the odds the driver got there at lunch time!
