Well the insurance company just cut me the check. Wasnt what I had hoped for but it will cover all the dammage and they will pay for the rental. I can also properly redo the exhaust now.

Close to what the insurance did. Its all good, will have everything fixed and be able to do the exhaust over with MUCH better parts. Even have enough left for a front sway bar and the rest of the SCP braces. :)

That would have bugged me to have lied to them. I figured dammages at $1600 ish and the shop was less and the insurance more. So I am fine with that. Already ordered a new seat back. Well, used but in excellent shape. Just have to find the license platye light bracket and the under car brace thats before the gas tank. Wasnt hurt in the wreck but its not there eaither. :(
As soon as the check clears I will order the SCP front firewall/k-member braces, Addco sway bar, SCP/Magnaflow X-resonator, Borla ProXS mufflers, a custom tip set and the 2.5" mandrel bent pipe kit.
Waiting on the body shop to call me back as to when I can bring it back to them. I think tonight I will cut off the exhaust tips cause they look like poop and then rub off most of the scuffing so the car dont look so bad untill its repainted.


So I also have something very special planned for the car. I aint gonna say what it is as there are a lot of details that need to be worked out but its something really really cool. Only two members know and they will stay quiet untill the car is left at the shop to have this very cool mod done. :)

Ok, after getting a few things off my plate from last weekend, and stressing this first half of this week, it dawned on me.................

(Takes a few days for two brain cells to properly aline)

I'm really not the hero here, there are a few other parties involved:

1) The little lady whom was completely tired from being at the open track event racing her car all day, that, went home, grabbed a set of gears that was slated for her car, and then drove 1 1/2 hours to drop them off, and stayed to assist.

2) Mick who while at the shop to pick up parts also offered up a set of gears to Bill for a totally insane price, if Loris didn't work.

3) Tom who was the back up plan for the final save.

4) Nathan who hung out, and cleaned and assisted for no other reason than to just be helpful.


What I guess this really boils down to is the people that I have net worked with over many years stepping up to the plate to help a fellow enthusiast they know nothing about.

So really it's not me that's the hero, it was everyone else that was involved that stepped up to the plate and came to Bill's rescue.

Yes, and now I feel bad for neglecting to mention any of them. :( All I did was buy lunch and that does not even compare to the ammount of work everyone put into my car to make that mod happen. I am so greatful for everyones help, was just really great. You all have made a friend for life that will do anything for you...... anything *wink wink* :p

As Alan and I stood there looking at each other like :eek::eek: watching it all go down in SLO MO.
 
Well since I now have the check and deposited it, it will take 7 working days to clear. :( None of the check cashing places would cash it which I thought odd but oh well. So since I have to cruise around for a bit untill it goes in for repairs I decided to take some compound and wax to the bumper and also straighten the pipes tip a little. Guess it will do for now.

now you got all the black crap off, it looks liveable.
 
Yeah, I am debating getting a TC and the stuff to do the J-mod but dont think I can get all the stuff AND labor for under $700ish so instead I think I will get the front sway bar, firewall brace and the IRS brace.
 
You should get a fat assed trailer hitch to protect that bumper. It may not fully protect it but at least it will wreak havoc if anyone rear-ends you again.:)
 
If he got hit again with a hitch on the car it would total his car out for sure!!!! LOL After installing mine last week 1 good hit in the azz would bend alot of sh*t under the car!!
