Laser, you don't know misery!

That is terrible. I am sorry to read about this. All the work you put in that car. All of your audio. Wow. Could it be that fuel injectors didn't seat properly?

The audio, especially the trunk audio is still in perfect condition but all the wiring I done and new battery, terminals, fuse block is gone and yes, it had to be that the injectors weren't seated or at least one of them, maybe 2 orall 4, I have no clue. I got pics coming in the next few minutes of all of it.

Ok, here it goes and it almost makes me wanna cry but I'll get another one soon. I lived so the Mark will live with me even though it might be a different one.

Stereo in the trunk didn't suffer any fire or water damage.

My dad is gonna bitch about this but I don't care.

And of all things that I would like to have seen be blown off into space, it suffered ZERO DAMAGE!

My whole driveway is covered in glass from the garage windows being blown out as the door was coming down. When I was outside a minute ago, I checked and I never got a chance to shut the car off before it exploded. The way you see the hood is the way it went when it blew, the fireman didn't do that. I saw hood and flames all at once and my azz was out and diving into the driveway all wihin 2 seconds or less.

Holy chit that is crazy. I bet you could salvage most of the interior?

OMFG!!!!!!!
Did the fire dept make a report yet?
They will have to investagate what caused it.

So what does god look like? I am sure you saw him.

Well, I can tell you that he's strong because I swear I felt something throwing me out of the garage with a force.

Yes, they made the report and I had to fill out a statement and he came back this morning and got pictures of everything that I just put up but I'm sure he got more than I did.

OMG dude... I wish I could see photobucket pics on works network... I can't believe this happened to you..

I'm deeply sorry for your loss and the damage to yourself and property....

Seems like it is not a good time for Mark Viii's lately...

I'm always paranoid about something like that happening.

My question is, if it came from the dash area... is it possible that brake fluid leaked inside and covered wiring? I've seen older cars leak fluid inside...

That really sucks man, I was really looking forward to seeing your car in person when I came down there for parts... what a shame man...

I changed injectors on my '94 GT at the end of last year (they were mark viii injectors) and I remember having to put the death pressure on the rail to get them to seat. I am paranoid and leaking fluids. My buddy steve almost killed both of us when he put his car back together last year when the holes in his intake were stripped that hold the fuel rail down and we thought it would be okay... then he started it and POW!!! the rail blew off and fuel was everywhere!! Luckily for the both of us the motor/headers were ICE cold still.

I still cant beleive it happened to your car... First Laser then you

Another Mark Viii casualty...

R.I.P. Mark Viii :(

Im really sorry to hear and see that, Nolimit!
I'm very glad your okay enough to write about it and so glad your boy wasn't with you.
My 7 year old is with me most of the time when I'm in my mark or working on it, that could have made this so much worse. I know you lost a great car but your family still has you and you still have all your family.
Fire investigators or a real good mechanic could probably look at that and prove what really caused it.
I have the C/C recall fixed, but never heard about the headlight switch issue and mine does act wierd, interior light flicker and the doors lock when I turn the dome on and back off???
Thats another thread...

Glad to see what matters is still around, take care of yourself and enjoy your family.

No, first you and the deere and then Laser and the stupid 17 year old, which I wished I had been involved in because I have everything needed to fix mine if that had happened but the fire, come the F on. I can't fix that. Hell, Foose couldn't fix that.

Lets put it this way, when you get another Mark we get to see you christen it with a fresh burnout vid?

I just remembered but when I was in school for automotive I remember a student leaving the battery charger on a battery too long, the hood prop fell and the hood hit him in the head making him pull his head out from under the hood obviously, as soon as he pulled his head out the top of the battery shot off the battery and put a huge dent in the hood which could have been his face.

Think of all this reminds me of final destination.

Wow, those pics really tell the story. I'm glad you're still here to tell us about it. It's good that you were the only one in the car too as fast as it happened.

I'm beyond speechless!!!
:slam :slam :slam :slam :slam :slam :slam
WHY man WHY?!?!?!?
You of all people don't deserve this dude! Well, I'm glad to hear you are ok, your (landlord's) home where your family is living in, is ok. That is PRIORITY! I'm shocked that our cars are prone to this. Well, piece of advice, turn a negative into a positive, buy a tarp, cover the car, start parting it out to make cash that you can use towards your next MARK VIII! Things happen sometimes for a reason. Thank God that happened at your house & not in the middle of the highway going 55mph. You wouldn't be telling the story now. I speak for all of us here when I tell you that you have friends here if you need us.

PS: You truly lived up to your SN (NO LIMIT)

man that just sucks im sorry to see that happen to someone that actually takes pride in there car. Hope everything works out for you and you get back in a mark.

No one has said this yet, but don't tell anyone else that you think you put injectors in wrong and it started the fire. You do not want the landlords insurance to hold you responsible for the damage that was caused by the car exploding.

x2 i would be i dunno what happen....it just blew up

Wow. It had to be a fuel leak which over time crept into the HVAC vents and then inside. You were desensitized to fuel smell by working on it.

NEVER WORK ON FUEL SYSTEMS INDOORS!

And you are one lucky guy. The damage is far greater than I originally imagined!!

Im weird this way, but I would keep the hood and hang it in my garage as a reminder to work safe.
