Is this thing for real?

Snake Oil.

Probably. I don't know about the product advertised there, but, and I hate to even say this, but I have a friend who bought a "Tornado" for his '97 F-150 4x4 and he says he's getting a little more power and better gas mileage with it. He said he noticed an improvement after about a month of driving it. I don't know if it's true or not, but that's what he said.

A month later? Its not the device. Cars dont take a month to "adjust" to anything. Been proven over and over that devices that block air-flow do not help.

Besides, think about it. Its a VACUUM setup. The intakes pull in air. And not to mention that by the time it hits the chambers there is not much of a swirl going on. In fact thats pretty much all lost once it hits the intake.

Your friend is an idiot. I once knew an idiot I called a friend that had an Accord. He put on a resonating exhaust tip and said he could feel the extra power.

About 10 years ago one of the car mags tested it on 10 or 12 different cars. LT1 Impalla SS, 85 RX-7, Mustang GT, F-150, VW Jetta amd several other cars. Every car except the RX-7 lost 2-4hp. The RX-7 broke even but it was the carbed version and even a Tornado couldnt restrict a 14" air filter.

Its the biggest turd scam out there....... well save for the $60 BS TPS mod thats supposed to add "Up to 60HP!!"

i had one in my 1987 4runner when i bought it all it did for me was hold down my paperwork in my tool box!! lol i think anyone uses one needs to change the muffler bearings and the blinker fluid while picking up their pocket that they dropped

Ya it is for real, you get it, you throw it away, if you want you can pay pal me ten bucks and save the hassle

Look at his feedback, it's amazing how many people have bought the damn things.

Idiots.

I always wondered how these things were going to better atomize fuel, when it comes out of a fuel injector! HAHA. :D

I just want to join in-
Does it work? Hell no.
"Type R" stickers are a better investment to improve hp and mpg.

The theory is actually sound. The execution is not. Now if our intake runners were increased in size by 10-15% and then something similar was inserted in each runner it would then make a difference of 2-4hp. The reason being is the swirled air would travel faster around the tight turns our runners make and would cause a mini ram air effect as it entered the combustion chamber.
But as I said, the runners would have to be enlarged to compensate for the restriction of the veins.

I decided to buy one, put it on my hyundai, it does wheelies now, im so impressed by it i decided to buy stock from that company, i am buying 8 more, my car will be able to do back flips imagine
hyundai elantra- maybe 100 horsepower....
add one swirlyjig. +60hp=160hp=wheelies
add 8 more swirlyjigs. +480hp=640hp= multiple backflips in front of police station.
Hey laser wanna race when i get my stuff in the mail, wait im not gonna waste my time with you, im gonna challenge some top fuel dragsters instead, just imagine what will happen when i dump alcohol in my tank, ya were talkin another 100 hp , thats 740hp at the front right wheel no problem
