How hard is the 5/6 speed? Do any of the other cars on the same platform, T-Birds and Cougars, have a clutch set up, hangers etc?

I'm not sure there is enough money. It's like there is always something more that can be done to make things better, faster, nicer looking. It never stops. I have more into mine that I paid for it and I still can't quit and I don't even do engine mods..... wtf

Well its tough to ever invest money in a mark viii without exceeding the value, they are still cheap to buy and modify in relative terms, you can't have he mindset of getting out what you put into it..unless you buy it for dirt cheap to fix and turn around and sell..but what's he point in doing that if you can't enjoy it.

I agree and like I have said before, I will never sell this car unless some retard wanted to just give me about 6K for it and I would still be hesitant about it. Might sound stupid to most but I really do have a problem free and good running car. It gives me no trouble besides a slight oil leak. I just need to get my lazy ass under there and it might be a oil pan bolt loose for all I know. But no, I'm never selling it or I would never have bought all the new front nose parts for the price that I did and I wouldn't have spent over $700 for new OEM bags for the front either. I done all of this for long term usage and like you say, enjoyment lol. The price has been paid now and I should never have to worry about none of that stuff anymore. Now all I need is new OEM rear air springs just so that I know all 4 are completely new. The Gen 1 Mark has been my dream car since 93 and it really kicked in during 1994 but damn, I was trying to buy a house and this car cost as much, or almost as much as a house back then. I had to wait, like most on here did.

Or buy this one:

It's just a 5-speed, but at least it's a manual. I'll bet the reserve is $10K though:eek:

And before I bought it, I'd have to make sure he puts the wheels on correctly!

Reserve is $3000. I like my 93 but that is a good deal. If I take mine to Atlanta, very unlikely, I would take another grand and get this too:

I used to say the same thing until I ran across this black 97. Now my 93 will be stripped back to stock & sold for way less than the price you mentioned above.

Now on another note, I won't sell my prarie tan unless I get $7k for it! :D

I think I'm over it. What helps is knowing you're going to be unemployed in three months (from a company you've worked for for thirty frikkin' years), a serious illness of a close family member, along with medical issues for yourself along with insane medical bills. I have over $1500 in NOS parts I was gonna replace this spring still sitting in boxes, along with about three times the value of the car put into it already, and I have no interest in even thinking about it any more. It was like a switch going off. A month ago I was still gung ho, and now all I want to do is get it off my hands, even though it means a huge loss. As Tyler Durden says, "The things you own end up owning you".

Sorry, didn't meant to be a downer, but I had to get that off my chest.

Having had three Mark VIII's and having my current one nearly three years now, I am getting close to being over them as well. I have so many other hobbies that take my time and money that it has been difficult to even think about the Mark.

I just bought my 7th Mark VIII. I am not tired of them at all. If anything I've learned to appreciate the better, lower mileage Marks. These lower mileage Marks are not as needy as the higher mileage ones. Im talking from my "Florida" experience though. Don't know how it is up North.

holy cow thats cool! 2nd gen mirrors too! i wanna do that to mine.

Blah..2nd gen mirrors are ugly, 1st gen mirrors are more sleek looking..and I don't care about the dumb puddle lamps.
