hey guys just joined after buying my first lincoln, 96 mark viii thought it was great shape runs good until oil started leaking thought ok ill just take it in get new oil pan and have exhaust fixed or made true duals...

so my question is where the *** do i get an oil pan for it? theres one in a wreaker here in ontario but condition is unknown and are other parts for this car not available either? starting to get worried after mechanic told me to scrap it since i couldnt ever get a pan, the pans been repaired before and had some kind of coating like a gas tank so this ones shot i was told

Yup, got 2 oil pans sitting in the garage right now...well, 4 if you count the ones installed on the Marks... :D

One is spoken for, and the other's just sitting. It's currently bead-blasted clear of all rust(there was just a small amount of surface rust in a couple spots, ready for a coating of POR-15, or some similar anti-rust agent, and a good painting...

I notice that you're in Canada, so shipping is gonna suck, but the price is $110 plus shipping. Let me know if you're interested...

X2. You might not be able to find parts new but you will always be able to dig up good used parts. Best place to start is here. Peeps are always parting out cars.

i was glad to stumble onto this site while searching for info, whenever i buy a new car i dont know much about i join a forum and meet guys like all you that have gone threw and doneall the things i would like to do to my mark, only got it because it was good deal not knowing much about lincoln, and then i took it out for first time test drive while looking at it, hammered gas down and was like:eek: wtf is under the hood lol and know and slowly getting hooked

mechanic said just to scrap it not worth finding oil pan or fixing exhaust, said these cars are junk, that i should scrap and buy newer honda:mad: ya f that i was pissed i said ya a practically free mark viii with 160k junk? see ya onto the next shop...... i usually do all my own work but pressed for time and have no where to work on it at the moment, runs and shifts awesome interior is almost mint, body has some dents but i already fixed most, cars being painted flat black for winter and fresh paint next year,

looking into shipping and i will be buying the part to fix it,

is it worth the money to make these cars true duals?

just was looking at the sensor lowering mod, anyone done this to there 96 with 16 inch rims?

is there a way to search threads to find the best mods? i just joined and have been spending hours going threw posts looking for the best mods and performance ideas for my 96

on my way outside to start first mod - air silencer removal :p

You might also want to look into getting a couple of spare VLCM's. '96 is an odd year. Last Gen1 but first OBD-II. Makes for an interesting setup. Some parts are unique to the 1996 model year.

Well soo much for a 20 min job lol mine had siezed bolts took me almost an hour lol but then again might have gone faster if i wasn't holding a beer in one hand

Didn't you buy an oil pan from me a while ago? Can't remember for sure, but I know it went to Canada...

If so, how'd it turn out? ....and do you remember how much the shipping was? I can't remember...I think it may have somewhere between $30-40.
