I hate my headlights...

You know, I joined this site and was excited that the Mark Viii headlights could be fixed...

I took it upon my self to do them, they turned out great!


... Until now

My passenger headlight had moisture in it from day one, no biggie, put alcohol in it then found the leak and put some sealer on it....

They never were much better, just had brighter light bulbs when I did the HID conversion...

But now my darn drivers side headlight has moisture in it! And it's been almost a year since I did the headlights! What changed?!?!?

So I take it out last night after fighting with the WORST headlight clips in the world... and I take the light inside and pour alcohol in it... I swish it around and I find a small hole. I pour it out and use a blow dryer to get ALL the moisture and alcohol out... then seal the hole.

I put the headlight back in and all is good.



Until this morning. Stupid thing has moisture in it again... and I know there was only 1 freakin hole!

I hate old headlights... Why cant I find LSC housings cheap, I wish they werent soo darn expensive.

Sorry, I'm not in a good mood this morning. End rant.

The only thing that makes me feel happy is the fact that the ray-switch install went perfect and I can play with the switch whenever I want

I feel your pain bro. My car was perfect until I went to a touchless car wash. I get home and wallah! Tons of condensation on inside of the housing! Man that pissed me off!

I rarely use a car wash as I like to hand spray wax my car down on a daily or bi-daily basis. Every once in awhile I'll throw my cars through the wash to get the dirt out of the cracks I may have missed................why did that last part sound wrong? HAHA!

Send your headlights down to Jamie and have him get them cleaned & refurbished for you. He got mine sealed pretty darn good, as we've had nothing but rain for a week and a half here and there's not a drop of condensation inside.

Plus, with the new reflectors, these lights kick ASS.

Well thats the thing... my drivers headlight had condensation the next day when I originally did them... and now, almost a year later the passenger side does it.

I am currently looking online for LSC headlights and I think I found a set

Pull the headlights out and take the little rubber breather off, they will dry out faster that way.

bottom line is no matter how long it took, it got moisture because of the seal, it may have lasted a year, but it should last yearS!
i havent heard of any headlights i have done so far getting moisture, ( knock on wood ) because its one of the things i spend the most time on! i really do try and seal them insanely! you dont need lcs housings to get killer light out of your mark, you will just end up with a housing and a huge hole for the light bulb to mount into!!

I'm taking this into consideration, in the process of for the second time this week to seal the housing and not go skimpy on the sealant.

I do have a question and this may not pertain to your problem but I did notice tonight that the bulb has a rubber grommet, should these be lubricated with something for instance like WD40?

Jamie, that was going to be my next question... if a stock regular bulb would fit in the LSC housings.. I guess the answer there is no. But I could just Ebay and find the rest of the parts (bulbs/ballasts)

Honestly though... ANY lights would be better than whats in my car... All the mounting hardware and adjusters are broke... sorta pisses me off that this car was wrecked at one time and obviously repaired poorly

LOL, keep the vaseline out of the garage and use some dielectric grease.

yeah well opinions are like a-holes lol.......... i'm a man and admit there is a tub of vaseline on the top of my bolt bin, and it does get used, and no not on my body parts, and its a whole hell of alot cheaper than dielectric grease and works just as good. why go to JCPenny when Big Lots is next door, catch my drift!!!!!!!!!!
