When I was in high school, my dad let me drive his 69 Olds Toranado to school once. Front wheel drive cars were rare then and they didn't come with 4 cylinder engines. This one had a 455 four barrell with gobs of torque.
In the parking lot, I put the parking brake on to lock the rear wheels, and nailed it.
Both front tires billowed tons of white smoke from the fenders while the front end of the car moved back and forth from side to side.
Everyone loved the show.
:lol::lol:
That is awesome!
I was doing 130-ish in my '93 street racing a Grand Am GT and a crapbox eclipse... won both races, and even from a roll. They never stood a chance.
In my '94 Mustang GT I was driving here in the neighborhood leading some friends who didnt know their way out, and I was coming up on a part of the road that dog-legged, and I just dropped the hammer and took off, Came to the dog-leg, a racoon was in the road, it's eyes got as big as it's head! I whipped the wheel to the left, then back to the right, rear end came out from behind me one direction, then back the other direction, sent me into a complete 180 turn sliding backwards on the chip-tarred roads!! The road was only about a car and a half wide, with 4 ft. deep ditches!!!! I was soooooo lucky I didnt throw the back end into a ditch and total the car!!
One other thing I did, in my '77 Mustang II, It was a cool morning and the frost was JUST melting, and this car is a 4cyl auto so it has noooo balls at all, anyway, I pulled out to cross the highway, and nailed it. The right rear started to spin, and I was thinking "hell yeah! Git it little mustang II!!" then the left rear started to spin! (it's an open dif. so I knew I was in trouble!) and the whole car did a giant doughnut in the middle of the highway!! Couldnt even steer out of it or hit the brakes! I guess there was a tiny bit of ice on the road! Luckily there was NOBODY coming, it was dead that morning.
I also used to side-step the clutch in my '89 GT and send the rear end out to the right and get all kinds of sideways, lol! I did they EVERYWHERE I drove that car... to think I never got pulled over now looking back was a miracle... and that car had no mufflers and exhaust ended at the H pipe behind the drivers seats, :lol: what a pile
