He must have been up against one dead Mark or I was up against one dead MR2 because I have beat the hell out of one before with ease. I'm stock completely, no mods and nearly 200 lbs of stereo in the trunk.

Please do and prove the point to him that his friends MR2 non turbo or with turbo will not beat you. He could have raced vikingdiesel for all we know with a leaking manifold gasket.
