Gears

City driving is where low gears (i.e. numerically high) are in their element. Perfect for stop/start low speed driving when pulling off quickly is desirable. Not so good for highway. This is why you would make a compromise. Frogmans 3.73 suggestion sounds about the right balance for a mix of city and highway driving.
 
Im no mark viii performance expert but for what you want i'd say the lower the better. Maybe 4.10 or even lower.
 
well, i dont really want to street race, i just wanna beat the junk out of kids that mess with me at lights in there little rice burners, :)
 
First off, I've seen my share of death... that you can count on. However, after you pull the twisted and broken body of a 2 year old baby out of a car that was practically flattened by a Diesel pick-up truck racing another pick-up truck, and she dies in your arms while you're trying to be a good citizen and keep her alive until Paramedics show up, you might just have the same thoughts as I about street racing.

So if that makes me a street racing NAZI, so be it.

There is very little difference in RPM's between 3.73 and 4.10 gears, being only about 200RPM. Just go for the 4.10's.
 
hells yeah go for 4.10s
ill be honest it was a seriously noticable mod along with the jmod and shift kit u get the tune at the same time and yeah... other thing is torque converter if someone didnt mention it already
