Tried acouple diff ways but neither worked..Any ideas? All the plastic clips look intact on the button, got the metal part that flew off and the spring is still in the button on the door.

I think there should be some retainer tabs on the 2 longer pieces on the bottom ofthe button. It looks like they've worn off. I've got a few chrome ones if you'd like one of them. I'm out of town until the 27th though.

mine popped out the other day out of nowhere, i just pushed it back it and held fine.

Yeah, Ummm... there's this place in every city called a junk yard, you go there for many parts, for this part I'm sure you won't sweat much, but wait, it gets better... theres this thing in your pants called a pocket.... trunk button is to be inserted there when you pry it off the car. Look around for any other parts you may want & take advantage of the visit, pay for a bigger part you may need for your car then walk out of the junk yard!!!

Problem is, I don't think it was designed to be replaced. when I bought inner door panels from Max, the driver's side panel came with the fuel door switch already installed.

Bryan, which wheels are those on your Mark? Looks damn fine to me! Silver Gen 1's make me want to jizz in my pants. Damn, what cave have I been living in? You & I are Florida neighbors.

Frogman, I never quote you... & if I do I'm running the other way as oon as I hit "submit reply' lol... but I've actually taken mine off a few times to paint the door. However, I have a Gen 1 so I plead the 5th if they are that diferrent on gen 2's

If there were any marks in the yards within a 15 mile radias of me i would do that.

No need to "run the other way" when you quote me in regards to something you may not agree with me on. That's silly.
If it is indeed removable, then cool. I didn't say it wasn't removable for a fact. Hence the ~shrug~. It was my thinking that it may not be, since door panels were sold with no other buttons except the fuel door button, straight from FORD.

They just pry out, and they're the exact same from gen 1 and gen 2.

I have swapped mine out on my 94 black door panel with 3 different buttons and they all seemed to be the same but what you have does look different from what I have.

his is the same, just the button itself came out. and heres the tabs that broke off of it allowing it to shoot out

Yeah, those tabs are what I was talking about in my first post. I'd send you a button for the cost of shipping, but you'll probably want to get one from Jamie. I'm out of town for about a week.

all years interchange some are chrome thats all, i have fixed the buttons in the past. the tabs break off and i have used screws from a pair of glasses to make new ( wings ) to put the button back together but they are so easy to aquire its not worth fixing them.

are the tabs on the short or long peices? I know they belong on one pair of them but neither show signs of sumtin breaking on them.

The tabs appear to be attached to the button and they slide up and down in that slot you see when the button is pressed.

yea, i got that part...But you got the 2 long parts and 2 short on the actual inside button..I put tabs on the short ones i just want to make sure that they dont go on the long ones before i try to put it back in..

they do go on the long ones, look up chicken circled the part that broke in that picture.
