Front End Squeaking

UCAs

Light surface rust. It looks like they sat on the shelf for a long time. I am going to install them and cross my fingers.

Youre screwing up bigtime if you put that aftermarket s h i t on your car.The nightmare of changing them damn things was enough for me.I'm doing it once and thats it.I learned the hard way and it sounds like you will too.JMO

Just got back from getting pizza and UCAs.The pizza smells good and the control arms are bitchin.Man,I love correct parts.

My car isn't a daily, it has seen 5,000 miles in the year and a half I have owned it. Could be two years before being replaced again, but I don't plan on losing money on this deal by sending them back now. In two years, I might not own the car.

i just changed a control arm today on a 98 lsc that i worked on 8 months ago, i rebuilt the entire front end 8 months ago, one of the control arms was trw, the other was hong kong fantastical superb these parts were given to me to put in, i did not get them, i put the right upper in, the hong kong special and i just replaced it today, bad ball joint and the inner bushings were torn already. you get what you pay for.

General consensus from what I have been reading is that these aren't as bad as the really cheap junk but not as good as Moog. If my wife were still working these would be on their way back.

I have Arnott UCAs on my 93, going on 3 years now. Bought those before I was educated enough to go with TRW/Moog. So far they are holding up.

You might take a pic of the rust on the arms and email it to them for a refund.

put it this way, if it isnt moog/trw its all junk, trust me i have seen them all, they are all the same quality and its garbage. no other brand makes the things like the factory pieces, not even close.

You may have trw rebuilds in your car if they are 3 years old.The parts they sell now are not trw. With as much work that goes into replacing these items it makes sense to go with the good stuff. The difference in price is a drop in the bucket compared to the damage that can be caused by a ball joint failure of which I came as close to having on my car.Had it not been for the fact I was backing out of my garage and a set of bullet wheels that the lower control arm dropped against my drivers fender would have been wiped out.I agree with jamie that the suspension on these cars is the weak link and needs all the help in can get.

i got a bad feeling about arrnot a few weeks ago, when your sales people are rude and yell at customers something is wrong as i said they ARE-NOT getting my buisness.

I do have a new dry bushing type sound coming from the front px side. Will spray the Arnott UCAs with silicone and see if it changes any.

Well, I'm not gonna go through the hassle of returning and losing money, I got these arnott uppers and they are gonna go on. 8 months won't be bad. Given my luck, my car will blow up before then. I don't drive that much, if they last 10k miles I'll have 'em for a couple years. It's odd though, the sticker on the box says made in china, lists no brand, and is dated 7/09, beneath that, a sticker says they are arnott brand and is dated 2007.

Excuse the terribad MP3 player pics, all I had charged and I wanted to take a few shots.

Look at the sticker dates, if you can make them out, kinda wierd. Click to view large versions.

Mine were thrown in a nondescript cardboard box with no marking whatsoever and a lot of dust. I've only driven my Mark 5K miles in a year and a half that I have had it. I'm in the same boat, I do not plan on returning them and losing money.

I updated showing pics, are these the same as yours?

I'll look when I get home, but I suspect they are. Mine were so dirty that my hands turned brown when I handled them.

Looking at your Uppers, it is clear that Arnott sent me USED UCA"s. This garbage is going back, and I am not paying their restocking fee either. If I do not get a full refund I will file a Paypal claim.

i know first hand about the ball joint goinf and scrash afender and floor damange it happen to me i hit a pot hole and smash there goes the passanger side and i was on my way to the club and that when it happened

Arnott claims that these got this way by sitting on the shelf in their non air conditioned warehouse. I am not buying it.

Doubt it would help much, but report them to the BBB too. Those parts Arnott (:D) even close to satisfactory.

You're suppose to drive -around- pot holes, you can't blame your lack of driving skill on parts.
If you're crying about getting your hands dirty, wear nitriles, or pay me to get my hands dirty...
You went to a company with poor QC, plain and simple, the part looks ok, use it, or try to return it at the cost of shipping and restock

You gotta be shi*tin me, sap. That part looks like it's been on a car for 6 months. It is sold as a new part. Mine look great compared to them, yet they are the same part. You are misreading, taking out of context, and not reading into the connotations of the things members are saying complaining about these parts. The part was NEW, it got his hands filthy holding it. It's rusty, and had been in a sealed box. The pothole story was nothing to do with this discussion, it was a warning in general about failing joints. If that part looks OK to you, you are blind, and are no mechanic, it has rust under the boot, meaning it's not good, since that causes binding.
