so fountain tire is replacing my rear shocks, i dont have the time to do it and they are just down the street so yeah anyways, they order shocks for a 89 mark 7.... see it doesnt fit so they phone me and tell me that no one makes rear shocks to fit our cars... so i said order a set for a thunderbird.. they claim no it wont fit so now my baby is sitting on a hoist at fountain tire. :(

yeah for some reason i remember having this issue a while ago, the 2-3 parts stores i called had no listing for rear shock for the mark 8. I have a brand new set with mounts and all, but i would imagine its too late? let me know.

I just bought a new set of Monroe Sensa Tracs from O'reilly's a few weeks ago for a 95 Thunderbird. They were right at $31.00 each and then I bought some solid stainless steel rear shock mounts from Jamie. Had everything on within an hour. Nothing to it and yes, O'Reilly's does have Mark VIII shocks if you want to pay $119.00 for the same thing.

yeah real rear shocks for a mark are retarded expensive. if you told them to get them for a t-bird and they say it wont work i would be walking down there to get my car. thats why i refuse to have anyone else work on my cars, only the ford dealer touches my marks for allignments, thats it. otherwise i do it, and if its something i dont know how to do, i get online and learn, hell, the only thing i havent done to a mark now is build a motor from an empty block up, everything else has been done, i need a new belt to keep adding checks under it!!

And they prolly wont have a listing for 93 Mark shocks since those were special.... and stupid.

Speaking of stupid, changing our rear shocks is stupid easy.

True and this goes for early 94's too. They had the anti nose dive :q:q:q:q built into them. When you turn the key on, you should hear a clunking / clicking sound coming from the rear end. That's your shocks doing that. It can be eliminated and still use Thunderbird shocks. Unless the 93 has a bumper cover full of bricks, it's not going to nose dive no more than the 95 and 96

okay ill let fountain tire know, thanks guys. im probably just gonna make the time and do it my self, its a simple concept to install them.

Eddie sells shocks and mounts. Pricey, but probably less if you do it then have someone else put them on.

And like someone said it's stupid easy to replace them, if you're used to working under the car. :)

You know, I completely understand that. :)

I have zero problems doing anything to the parts car (course, I'm pulling parts off it) but I plan for days before I touch the DD.

Seriously though, if you do your own brake pads, of if you can change a tire you can change out these rear shocks. :)
