DTC P0232 fuel pump

If you go with the TRE performance please please go to an auto parts store to get submersible fuel line. The line they give you is not meant to go into the tank. I learned the hard way when I did mine in the bird worked for about 3 days and then wouldn't start, because it busted a whole in that little line.

made some progress finally, maybe didn't need to but I removed all 4 strap bolts, also didn't need to but disconnected loop hose on the driver side of the tank...ready to remove and replace now! the elec. connector for the pump (load side) has 4 pins..wasn't sure how to test with an outside power source

looks like this, how do I properly disconnect those 2 lines (supply, return?) from the module?

There tab locks on the fitting, slide a flat tip screw driver under it and twist , that should pop it loose then pull the lock off and pull the line

And try not to link that line like that ;)

So much rust :( I'm so glad I don't live up north anymore

ah, kink, not 'link'....I raised it a little more...back at it tomorrow night, glad tomorrow is Monday so I can go back to work and rest

That would spook me. I think I would have put the front stands in the rear and the rear in the front, where the weight is. Those front ones are high enough (if they were in the rear) to do what you need to do. I'm just a freak accident freak...

I made another trip to Harber Frt and got a second pair of 6 ton 24'' stands, then used the little stands to support the tank....ultimately I had 22'' from the concrete to the bottom of the tank b4 lowering it (more than I needed)....

I've never jacked a car this high, it was a learning experience...none of my driveway is flat btw, so that makes it interesting....I only dropped it once, when I was jacking the high side and there was another jack w/ wheels on the low side...f_#kr took off...no harm no foul

I feel better now, knowing you got another 6 ton set. I'm assuming both garage bays are full of other things besides a car? Should be nice and level in there.

yep, one side is full of stuff, alot of car parts....I usually park on the other side, but it's tight....if I could have started the car I may have done the job in the there...but it's tough to even open the doors...yep. I need to clean my garage...still lots of remodeling materials...doors, windows, fridge, tools and more tools

the new Bosch fp came in the mail from Herko in Miami...Bosch 67004 nib, $160 delivered...same part is about $800 at Summit...unreal.....any tips on swapping fp's? first-timer

weekend warrior back at it...day is off to a good start; out in the drizzle, got the old fp out...was pretty simple: pull lines, turn lock ring lefty-loosey

fuel lines are held on by this little clip

spread the nibs at the open end, then pry out on the tongue at the closed end, I'll go by the Ford stealership and get 2 new ones to put back; figure they can't charge more than about $10 each prolly...lol
the new fp matches the old one, just need to transfer the fuel level float apparatus

I guess I could put a charge onto the old one at this point to make sure it's dead
----here's the tired old tank ready for the shiny new Bosch engineering product!

I scraped then vac'd debris from that area around the opening so as to get a good clean mating area for the newbie
(yes, that's a 20 oz. Estwing f/g framing hammer, I still think I'm a carpenter)

What's wrong with your lock clips.. the one in your hand looks fine... FYI they have replacements at any auto parts store in the Help Section and they're only $2-$3 for a set of 2

just overly cautious...I did go to the dealer to get new lock clips, there's a little more tension on the new ones...$2 for the black one, $3 for the white/clear one...go figure...also went there to get copper caliper (banjo bolt) washers for the pending brake mod....they had just one package with 7 washers...wtf, I need 8...jeez...play time is done..back to work!

long day, lots of interruptions but I got er done..starting that puppy up the first time is a beautiful thing; in hindsight I wasted time figuring out how to get the new gasket to fit into the groove atop the tank..I had to stretch the dogsh+t out of it, then put down the module before it reconststricted...also, I took down the drv side strap rear bolt- needlessly

The new gasket should just lay in the groove... what's all the stretching about?

Sapper, the new gasket was prolly about 3/16'' smaller than the old one in diameter, and the old one had to be stretched to go back in....I just stretched and stretched the new one to the point I thought I would snap it...then when I did get it to lay right down in the groove, if I waited more than about 20 seconds to put the fp top over it, the gasket tightened up again.....
---just like everything I do on my car, it took too long- but eff it, done now!!!
-now all I need to do is:
brown one: o.f. adpt gask (+ 180 t-stat?); P1537; 4 wheel hub and brake swap; reset courtesy light socket drvr door bottom; gear mod
white one: coils, headlights, blend door, stereo swap, window tint

also, got the gf back a few days ago, just had to tell I'd stop working on my cars...

Find a girl that likes guys that work on cars... there's LOTS of those kind out there.. I could probably even find you some pics of some.

But check out this article

I want to talk about your*car. Your ride. Your automobile. Or lack of one. Now, a lot of guys think that they need a hot car to impress a girl. Or at least a clean car.And it’s true because the luxury car market is a multi-billion dollars business geared often to guys to impress girls, or bought by guys to impress their girlfriend or wife.Since you’re more enlightened than the average guy, you probably don’t think you need a hot car either to get girls. BUT on the other hand, you also probably think that it wouldn’t hurt you, right? If you had a hot car, all else being equal, that would be better right? But actually, desiring a hot girl to impress girls will only screw up*your game. AND actually owning a great car to impress girls will screw up your game.It comes down to a difference between having Core*Confidence*and between looking for External Validation.Core Confidence is where you believe you’re the coolest guy on the planet, despite your material circumstances, despite your flaws, and despite your car. You are the coolest guy on the planet, period. And if you’re driving a ****ty, old car, you make the car cool, because YOU are cool.External validation on the other hand, is you feel naked and unworthy of a quality girl, and you compensate by referencing your confidence from something external, like owning an expensive car.Core confidence: You are the coolest guy on the planet, and by extension your car is cool too, even if it’s a piece of junk and dirty. Because YOU are so damn cool, that makes your car cool too, because everything you touch is cool. That’s core confidence, almost like a delusional self narcissism.External validation: You feel unworthy and uncool, but if and when you have a fancy hot car, that value will transfer to you, and you’ll become a little cooler when the girl sees you with your fancy car. That’s relying on external validation. And obviously, you want to have Core Confidence, not giving a **** what you drive.Because worrying about your car, or deriving confidence from your car to impress a girl, is a subtle form of kissing ass, a subtle form of approval seeking, a subtle form of supplication. And a guy with Core Confidence and 20 year old Ford Escort is more attractive than a guy with a fancy guy relying on it for external validation. And here’s why.Number one. A kind of guy who doesn’t have core confidence and is worried about **** like the car he drives, is typically is too scared to approach girls in the first place, or physically escalate, or lead the girl to a date. So usually the girl will never see his fancy car anyway let alone find herself in his bedroom.Number two. The guy relying on his car to impress the girl is subtly kissing ass, he’s supplicating, he’s looking for the girl’s approval, he’s looking for external validation from the girl. He’s looking to the car to fill a void inside himself, to be liked by the girl. In other words, HE doesn’t feel worthy of the girl and he’s using the car to compensate.Number three. Having an expensive car screams wealthy provider to the girl. It does NOT indicate to her sexual bad boy. So even if you can get the girl out of the bookstore or bar into your car, she’ll see you as dating material, where she’ll want to date you for months on end before having sex because she sees you as provider. Whereas girls have sex with bad boys for good, wild sex, and they have sex more quickly with broke bad boys. And that’s why a lot of wealthier guys, when they take the girl on a date in their Benz and show the girl their big house, the girl doesn’t want to have sex with him, because she’s eyeing him up for his provider resources instead. The material things makes her LIKE you as a potential longterm investment, but it doesn’t make her HORNY. There’s a big difference there, and you don’t want that.Number four. If you’re deriving confidence from your car, you don’t feel worthy. So if you’re not with your car, like anyplace you’re actually going to meet women, you’re going to feel half empty because your crutch, your car, isn’t with you. And your state drops. Then, you get into your expensive car, you feel good again, and your state spikes… but there’s no girls there. So your confidence and state goes up and down, up and down, depending on where you are, and it’s not consistent, and it’s like a rollercoaster. You don’t want that either.Number five. Circumstances change. Even if you buy that expensive car one day, you can’t guarantee that you’ll always have the money in the future to make the payments. You could lose a job. You could experience a drop in income. And you don’t want your confidence and sense of entitlement dependent on an expensive toy that one day you may not have in the future.Number six. Cool, down-to-earth girls will like your expensive car because it indicates you’re a provider, which is a problem, BUT it’s also going to attract the gold-diggers. The gold-digger types, the kind of girls you DON’T want to attract, will gravitate to you because you’re relying on MONEY to attract women. And it can bring out the gold-digger side in normal girls as well. Bad, bad, bad.So, if you are desiring an expensive car, that desiring will cripple you. And if you already have an expensive car, that car is crippling your game.Really, I suggest some unorthodox advice here. If you’ve got an expensive car, SELL IT OFF.You’re going to save yourself a LOT of money that you can use going out, or traveling, or taking a workshop, or whatever it is that will go much farther in bang-for-your-buck with girls than a car will take you.And it will free up your mind to focus on core-confidence and start to not give a **** about impressing the girl with material objects.

I'm pretty sure I'll find a way to keep the car and the gf...will prolly pay someone to do the coils soon...maybe the hub/brake swap also;
to work on my Mark(s) I really only have about 1-2 hours 2-3 nights/week, then whatever time I can muster on sat/sun
