DTC P0232 fuel pump

after driving my '86 Silverado 305 w/ 200k to work all last week it was great to drive the Mark my 90 mile round trip yesterday...thx for the help to all who offered it
---
now, when I get out of my car, I smell gasoline; but there are no visible signs of a leak on or around the tank....hoses I disconnected then reconnected are:
-fuel filler hose at plastic tank
-vent hose adjacent fuel filler hose (pass side in front of rear wheel)
-vent/loop hose at drivers side of tank
-supply and return lines at fp module atop fuel tank
...I felt certain everything was firmly reconnected and clamped before raising tank back into place; I'm watching my mileage, so far it seems normal; I guess it could be leaking gas around that gasket between the tank and the new fp
---one thing I'm not gonna do anymore is run the tank below 0.25 full

filled up with 93 today after work...about 1/2 gallon gas poured onto the concrete upon fill up...leaking from above the drive shaft tail; there's a cross-over, loop hose connecting the pass and drivers sides of the tank....when I put everything back together I left that hose hanging down upon the drive shaft (theres a place to snap it into to prevent this from happening)- the hose has a big ass hole burned into it, hence the leak and smell...when I first started driving after fp replacement, I heard it happening but did not know what it was at the time...damn
---the hose looks like 7/8'' o.d....5/8'' i.d?no place to get that hose tonight...gonna try to repair with the plastic spout from a gas can and two more clamps

repair was pretty easy...
after I disconnected the hose from the drv side I pulled it down and found the damage

I went to the local parts store but didn't find 5/8'' i.d. fuel hose; so I cut out the damaged fuel hose segment then cut a 2'' length of 1/2'' copper plumbing pipe to make a splice inside the hose

snugged up the clamps, pulled it back into place, but AWAY fron the drive shaft, and it looks like this now:

no more fuel leak! hopefully the copper tubing is a safe/effective long term solution
