I've completely changed out my front end suspension. Last week I was compressing the right strut to match the strut on the left. Before I got very far the smaller wrench fell down into the engine compartment. I couldn't find it but figured it would fall out. Two days later my car starts making grinding noises when I let off the brake pedel and the ABS light is coming on up until about 10 MPH. This happened about a mile from my house so I parked it and as I'm sanding it down for painting haven't gotten to that issue yet. Anyone have any ideas what I'm looking at when i put the front end up. Like i said I replaced everything on the front end except for the inner tie rod's and the steering column. I am also waiting to get some money for new control arm end links as I have the moog links and that make too much darn noise for me and I've also heard the stock links shore up the suspension a bunch.

thanks

a wrench lodged somewhere where it isn't suppose to, bad idea leaving with a wrench somewhere where you don't know

I'm with danny on this one. That wrench needs to be found or you might be buying more than you expected. You might have to take the hood and a fender off but it need to be found. Almost sounds like it's grinding a speed sensor.

yea if that wrench fell between the oil pan and the K member, your in for a very very bad suprise when all the oil leaves your motor with little or no warning.

There is just enough space for it to become wedged in there, and then it'll rub a hole in your oil pan.

had the same thing happen with a missing 1/2 socket with my SVO mustang, the mark 8 suffers from the same "low clearance" between the pan and the subframe.

It'd be very hard if not impossible for a message board reader to tell you where the wrench went, that is more of a question for you to Answer tony

Lost an 8mm socket in my engine bay once. Never did find it. :(

Those magnet things are indispensable, btw.

Epic fail...
+1

I agree completely! I finally bought one from Sears on black friday for 7.49. I even use it around the house. My kid decided to put a bunch of matchbox cars into the port on the sub on my surround sound in the living room. I couldn't get the speaker cloth off to expose any screws, so I had to use it and one of the plunger style bolt grabbers to extract all the cars lol.

Oh, and the one I bought has an led in the end to light up where you are searching. cool feature.

Keep looking you will find it.

My pops had a 1/2 open end box end wrench go thru a radiator once.
was left on the intake. I laugh now thinking about it.

i just picked up a new telescopic magnet, with a super bright led in the center of the magnet, man the things us humans think of, best god dam 7 dollar item in my tool box to date!!

this is the one i got, bought it at advance auto
