Decided to finally get my windows tinted today. So I got them done, and when I got back home I saw my tire was almost flat. So I go to the tire shop to fix it and when I get their I specifically tell them to put a rag on the tool when taking off my center cap because I don't want them all scratched up. No prob they say.

A few minutes later I watch this guy and not only did he not use the rag like I asked, but he just slides my center cap face down across the ground! I fly out there pissed off and yell at the guy, and of course he looks at me like I'm nuts for being mad about it. Then I look and he had my keys sitting on the roof! I ask him if he's ever heard the term keying a car and of course he said yes. I then asked him why the F he set keys on my paint if he knew what keys do to paint?!! Again blank with stupidity. I go in to talk to the manager and they tell me I have no right to be mad!! WTF! So I snap at them and tell them to put the f'n stuff together and I'm taking my car somewhere else. While I'm waiting the manager is eyeing me, so I asked him who the f he thinks he is to eye me? He immediately looked down and stopped eyeing me. WTF again! Man no respect anymore!

So I take it to another shop and tell them of my experience. We laugh about it and I give them the keys. I specified again about the center cap and added to not roll down the windows because I just had them tinted today. 2 hours later I come back and they have the center cap face down on the lift with lugnuts in it, and my driver window down! WTF!!!! I swear can anyone f'n comprehend directions anymore?!!!!!

I find out my tire had a failed valve stem so I had them replace them all. They found my brakes are all wore down almost 100% so now I get to replace all the brakes. I need to research what the best avenue is there high performance wise.

Then finally after all of this I get in the car pull away and turn on my lights......my f'n dash lights no longer work!

Then I get home take out the trash and split my finger open.

Vodka and lime here I come....

This is why I never go to shops anymore. If I have to fix a tire, I take it off. Absolutely no respect or common courtesy in this country anymore.

Give it time my friend. I haven't given up all hope. I've found there still are decent people out there you just have to search harder.

Seriously this is why I'm getting my law degree. I don't mean to seem like I'm always talking about it, but seriously there is no respect anymore. I feel if someone starts hammering these companies for their lack of ethics, and if the government is challenged for it's attempt to make itself immune to lawsuits for it's negligence and perversion of our rights things will change.

As I've said many other times, as soon as I get that degree I will hit the ground running! I've had one hell of a messed up life but it's what made me who I am. It's what made me unswayable, and uncorruptable. Money is not important to me. It's honor, love, and friendship.

Being a man of your word is what's important...because honestly if you're not a man of your word your not a man. I don't seek to make myself famous, I seek to give this life my all and make a difference for all. I know this sounds like I'm on a soapbox (and lord knows vodka helps with that:D ) but we all need to stand up for what we know is right.

I think life leads you in two directions, and when you choose the right path your are challenged with temptation to sway you the opposite way. If you resist and continue on the right path it gets harder. To resist temptation and follow the true, genuine path and be uncorruptable is to complete the journey your soul seeks.

To be true to yourself, is to be true to your soul.

i think the problem is kids these days aren't taught how to respect other peoples property, parents don't give a damn anymore neither do they. chances they aren't any kind of car enthusiasts either

Yup, most places suck. I have a place for welding, a place for tire mount/balence/alignment and a place rear end work. And thats all each shop gets trusted for.
Had my Cobra in the shop for 6 months, should have been one month. I say the k-member is bent. They throw controll arms at it. I say the K-members bent, they throw struts at it. I say the k-members bent, they throw it on a frame machine. I yell at them the k-member is bent and they send it to a different shop for alignment. I say the k-members bent, they say bring it to an alignment shop I like. By that point I was ready to kill them and the insurance company. I inform the insurance company they spent another $4200 trying not to buy a $1200 k-member and if they didnt ok it this time I was dropping them. They put in a new k-member and it was fine after that. Then I dropped the insurance company.

People suck.

I smoke. :D

Actually here is something even funnier! I posted a thread on Stangnet a few months back called "My day of hell" and it was when I first inherited this house I live in. It was disgustingly dirty so I was just gonna clean it out and sell it. I also inherited a 2002 Grand Cherokee that hadnt moved in a couple years. It had been raining and my yard was muddy but my Ranger was jacked up and a 4x4 so I drove around the side and parked behind the house so it was nose to nose with the Jeep so I could jump it so I could put the truck in the carport to throw trash in it. I get out of the Ranger and almost trip cause the ground was closer then it should have been. The Ranger was sinking into the ground. The drivers fronttire was almost completly covered (32" tire) I hopped in and tried to rock it out but no luck, it was stuck. Then the smell came.... oh great, that was the septic tank lid that broke and the trucks tire is in the honey pot. :(
Well my realator was there to take some outside pices (you wouldnt believe the inside so no pics for her) and she says she can hook her truck to it and pull it out. I see its a big ass GMC Duramax so I figure no problem. She starts to back it up and I see it sliding in the mud and say to put it in 4wd. She stops and says its 2wd. Crap. I tell her to just pull out but its too late, shes stuck. My neighbor drives by and sees this so he offeres to get his tractor. His tractor pulls the GMC out easy enough and then attaches to the Ranger aaaannnnndd...... get stuck. So he says he has to go get his father and the big tractor. He comes back with this huge beast, rear tires taller then my truck. We have to tear down the fence on the other side to get it in the back yard.
Fortunatly it pulled everything out.... including the grass. :(
The icing on the cake was finding a letter from the tax office stating the house was being siezed in 3 days for $12,000 in back taxes.
Now that was a day from hell.

I go to Goodyear. When I bought my wheels from TireRack, they were an authorized installer. They are very careful. I got the roadhazard policy too. So every 3000 miles I can stroll in for balancing and rotation. Still, I watch them. So far, it's been a great experience. Sorry about your trips to hell though. A small percentage of mechanics just don't seem to care. I think they're under the gun to get to the next car asap. They push for speed at the expense of quality IMO.

I learned my lesson once with my Octastar center caps. It's not like I can run to any parts store and get a new one. When I go in for a rotate and balance, I take the center caps off myself and put them in the back seat. I only leave one key in the ignition and I keep the remote in my hand. If they get locked out, I'll push the button from where I stand. I also turn the air ride off myself because some of the retards don't even know how to do that nor do they listen to you when you tell them it needs to be turned off.

And on the Octastar center cap deal, the fuk stick popped it off and luckily he caught it before it hit the shop floor. I walked through the door and popped the rest of them off for him. He said I couldn't be out there because of insurance purposes. I told him the insurance they have wouldn't like the fact that they had to order me 4 new center caps for those rims. Sometimes I'm asked if I have center caps for those rims and I tell them "yeah but you ain't gettin them". They're in the back seat and leave them the fuk alone"

Anyway, if you care about your center caps, my suggestion to all is to remove them yourself and drive in ugly until they get through and turn the air ride off yourself (if you have air ride) and remind them that it's off. Most likely the message will not be relayed to the next peter beater working in the shop.

Thanks. Yeah quality is becoming more sparse by the day.

Excellent Idea! I think I'm going to do that from now on. Meanwhile I'm going to make those scumbags order me a new center cap. Good luck for them to find me one. Guess I get a free rim if they can't find one!

You should not say now days cause when I was a tire monkey I had people who would only have me work on there cars and that was 10 years ago.
You wouldn't believe some of the :q:q:q:q that happens at a shop.
Shops have always needed you to watch them work on your cars or they will just dick off.
