Well this summer i cut a hole in the rear deck metal for my subs to fire through. I just got around to cutting the deck panel and fabbing up the rear deck carpet/panel yesterday.

Closest color i could find. Looks better in person imo. I think i might make it bigger. Right now its 25"x 10"..I might make another 28"x 12" (more difficult cuase the third brake light slopes upward) to see what it looks like..
Also found out my loc has adjustments and i re-tuned my system..I'm happy with the way it turned out.

lol..I allready had a prob with my rearview when i had my 3 12's..Kept coming off..I beleive it was you or laser that suggested less is more in reguards to the glue..After the 3rd try i listened and it worked..Then after i completed this project something in the mirror was ratteling. Took it off and in the process knocked it and it came off again..This time it was my fualt though.

Yea the carpet is tuff to match and i even went to the fabric store. If the rear deck carpet was new the color match would be off more..However i smoke and it has 13 years of dirt so it matches up better.

x2 on the balding/thinning, and i'm only 26..

Yeah that was me..I'm forgetful like that..something to the effect of it's hard to sell just one drop glue

I went to an upholstery place here, I had my tax check and was wanting the entire enterior redone...
$500 per front seat
they wouldn't even attemp the doors
$550 for rear seat upper
$300 for rear seat lower
$450 for carpet
$250 for rear deck carpet
$200 for headliner

I want what they're smokin

and my bald spot isn't genetics or age or anything anyone can figure out..I'm 31 and I grow hair fastish
I went to Sport Clips (where they wear ref jerzies) and got my usual high and tight (military hair cut) 0 gaurd on the sides 2 inches above ear , top about 1/2" and fade, this was back in the spring shortly after I met Bill
So I get that cut done, and tip the stylist, hair
looked ok, went to Bills office the next day, he's all laughing about the bald spot and was askin what happned, I thought he was messing around as usual so I ignored him a few days...when I finally saw it, it was completely butt smooth about the size of a dime, I called the hair shop and was told to call owner, he was an idiot about it but offered a free hair cut
now the spot is about the size of a half dollar..there's no discoloration of the scalp and all pours appear ok, there is very short hair that's been there about a couple month that's short enough to think I shaved it this morning

When I had the three 10's in the 94, I never had to do any blow through. I only removed the insulation from the two upper holes and insulation from two of the holes at the cross bars and it was making my moon roof jump up and down from the pressure. I also had mirror troubles until I finally got the kind of glue that has to be mixed and then applied. I glued the button to the glass for the night and then hung the mirror the next day and it never came down again until the fire.

This same system (what's in the trunk) is about to go in the 95 within the next 2 weeks. All I need is speaker wire and everything else is in the garage waiting. Luckily everything in the trunk survived the fire. Didn't even get smoked up back there.

man that setup looks nice...and clean... I was thinking about 3 10's but wasnt sure they would fit seeing as the width back there is only 35",Add in box and space in between subs i thought it wouldnt work...guess not.

As for the blowthrough. I'm aiming my subs upwards into the rear deck and leaving just enough room for the subs to not hit the deck at full excusion. In all my cars minus this one i've taken out the padding under the rear deck and from behind the rear seat and it didnt make that much of a diff. But its free so its worth doing.

I wanna say I still had about and inch left over on both sides with that box. I might get the speaker wire tomorrow. The Mark has the whole garage to itself now that I got rid of the Sanoma Friday. It's gonna be a two day job but I'm taking my time and doing it right.

I'm just wondering if I should go back with the hidden blue LED's or a different color. They'll be wired to come on when the trunk is opened. It seems like I still have a pair or two of the blue left and I know I have amber color. I miss my system and the 95 has that stock sh!t in there. All of it is going to the trash can except for the amp. Someone on here might need one.

Anyway, the box with three 10's fits perfect back there. Not sure if Gen 2's are more narrow in between fender wells but I do know I have room left over on both sides. I might have right at an inch of free space on the top to slide it back in place. I wouldn't be able to turn mine facing up. Too tall that way but facing to the back like shown above pounds pretty good. When I get done, it will look identical to the pic above.

I love the blue lighting in your trunk, I did the same thing in the map lights.. I'm going to copy your light idea and include the trunk lights now...I have another custom that will be done to the system, Laser came up with the idea ...let's see who can guess what it will be first

something i've learned thoughout all of my system is that it is better to take your time and do it right..Nice clean install, proper elec connections, wires hidden...Overall just being really anal.

When i was younger i was so eager to get it up and going i just kinda threw it in there..Then acouple months would go by and i'd do it the right way. This is by far the least extensive install i've done and i think it is great for what it is considering im useing the factory amp/speakers/h/u and a line out converter...
All i have to do for the added bass is turn the treble all the way up and bass about half way on the h/u. Gains are alittle over half to get the voltage needed at the amp. The bass still drowns out the treble unless the volume is over halfway.

I cant STAND that. I had so many systems growing up in the various many cars I owned, and I always spent on bass and just cheaped out on quality front stage and rear fill and wondered where all the definition and clarity went...

That's why you buy a head unit that has all the built in cross overs for every speaker in the car and a sub woofer volume level control built in. Just because I have three 10's in the trunk, doesn't mean I don't have good sound inside. I got it.

Jamie has the same exact head unit I have so he knows what I'm saying about all the different settings to get the sound you want. I can turn the volume down for the subs by remote and you would never know there was a box in the trunk. If I ever wanted to pound down a neighborhood, I can do that too but I'm 42 and don't get into that anymore. I just like good sound. I do understand though about some systems bass completely drowning out the mids and highs. I hate hearing boomin bass coming down the road and then hearing the tweeters making cracking noises. That's just from junk equipment, wiring and not knowing what you're doing.

I'm not a professional or anything but have been installing since I was 16 years old and have learned a lot over the years.

i really hate the new crap that rap-lovers are doing now, mounting megaphone type speakers under the hood..omg.. WHY cant we just shoot morons WHY!?!?! and there is barely any music inside the car, its all just blasting out in front..like an ice-cream truck playing 2pac WTF

I haven't been lucky enough to see that one yet...

I'm glad you brought that up because a car passed down my street one day and I heard some rap music coming out from under the car through some cheap sounding megaphone. I thought it was some kind of car selling CD's out of it or something but it wasn't. He just kept on going but now someone else has seen it and heard it. Glad I'm not the only one cause I really tried to figure that one out. It sounds like sh!t

Here I was thinking rear remote mount turbos blowing through the MAF..

Me 2 Damnit :wrench

Now onto the actual subject at hand. I have done Hi End stereo when I was younger for 5 years. I was in charge of the low end and making Computer designed boxes. So here is my question on the 2 box locations, the first being the threw the deck and then the 3 rear facing JL's?

Did you model the locations before you made them permanent? At present I have a box I threw in my new second gen with 2 Rockford 10's in a ported box. Reason being is the trunk is like 1" shorter than my 96' that I had my JL 13W7 in.
CIMG1733.jpg

I have the 10's mounted the same way to avoid any standing waves that I seemed to get with mounting the speakers any farther forwards?

I seem to get the deepest and clearest bass with the speakers facing backwards and as far back as possible. Also with windows up you hear almost nothing sept the license plate rattling a bit on large bass notes from the outside

On the being just plain stupid part I really want to build something so I can put my biggest Sub into the trunk :gr_devil::headbang:

That looks like a home theatre sub...which sounds like crap in cars, I had 2 15" Infinitys in my old Explorer that I got out of a home theatre box

Not home theater, it is a Club Stadium Sub.
My boss loaned it to a friend of his before I got it and it was mounted in a Explorer. Needs a 12 cu foot box with a large vent port.

When we tested it in the Demo room with a crap 750 watt Earthquake amp it hit you like someone punched you in the chest

The thing is like 112db@ 1watt with a 1000 watt max?

I also had a wall of 8 15" Orion DVC subs in Hi efficiency Bandpass.
Stupid thingmade you think Godzilla was coming when we fired it up but never got around to putting a cap on my truck to use it :(

I have The Mark at the stereo shop right now having a custom enclosure made for two 12" subs that will be against the back seat.

The back of the box will be angled to fit snug up against the seat back. Then, I am having a wall built so you can't see the subs from outside the car looking in.

The Kicker 750 amp - certified tested at 940 watts, will go where the factory cd changer is now. They are going build a enclosure for the Kicker amp, and on the passenger side, same spot, another enclosure will be made for the Kenne Bell Boost a pump.

So, all you will see is the fire extinguisher I have mounted in the small spot between where the cd player is and the spare tire well. Everything else will be hidden. I will post pics tomorrow when I pick it up. :)

Pics of hidden stuff...I can do that too!

Here's a pic of some fapping material custom hidden in my closet

Here's my little set-up so far

As far as my box goes, mine was built specifically for those three 10's. It's slot ported. The port had to be a certain width and height and travel to the back of the box and then upward so many inches and then the rest was just the over all width, height and depth. Nothing was planned for this box to fit in the Mark, it just so happens that it does fit nice and snug all the way back to the X brace. I haven't took pics yet but I now have it in the 95 and everything completely re-wired with JL Audio RCA's and Rockford speaker wire, JL Audio distribution block, Kicker 150 amp fuse holder with 2 gauge wire running all the way to the back and then split off into two 4 gauge power wires in the tub. Took me 4 nights working off and on but it is completed now. No blue LED's have been added yet but will be installed soon. The two amps are old school Kicker Impulse amps. One is a 654xi 4 channel and the other is a 2252xi bridged for the subs that are wired in a parallel configuration inside the box.

I get very little rattle outside the car but it has to be a pretty hard type of bass note to hear it and I too have to have the windows all the way up to hear any rattle. That's only if I'm really bangin it which I won't be doing. All new Kicker speakers inside the rear panels and doors with new wiring to them also. The head unit is a Kenwood eXcelon KDC-X993 with every setting I'll ever need. It's pretty neat to call someone from your remote and listen to them come through your speakers. I figured people would complain about echo but they say they can't even tell I'm talking through a microphone that's mounted to the drivers side visor. I could have done this in less than 4 nights but I took my time with everything down to the smallest detail because I do not want to wire the car over again. I'll get some updated pics posted soon.

All I have right now is a cell phone pic before the amps were placed and screwed down.
