got a couple questions for you guys first being in regards to the JMOD...

im planning on putting a cobra intake on my car next week but wont have enough time to do the jmod as well so rather than have to pay twice for a mail order tune i was wondering how the trans would shift if i had the tune programmed for the jmod as well but dont get around to actually doing it untill the following week.

and my next question has nothing to do with the first but whoever had owned my car befor the dealer i had bought it from decided to try painting the chrome trim around the windows and it looks terrible, its just chipping everywhere so i was wondering is there anyway to take that trim off so i can possibly just strip the paint off or am i stuck having to tape everything off and doing it that way.

pic, drivers side isnt as bad but still looks terrible

Just take a putty knife and lightly scrape the remainder of the black paint off the chrome and polish it back to factory luster. No need to remove the trim if you're careful. Or you could probably take a dremel tool with a scotchbrite pad on the end and remove the paint. Or it could be possible to use some paint thinner to "wash" it off. Just a few suggestions. They may work or may not. Now if you want to keep the black trim, I would suggest roughing up the chrome with some 600 or 800 grit sandpaper and then priming and painting with gloss or semi-gloss black. Apparently whoever painted it the first time didn't properly prep the trim. That's why it's flaking off.

Because in order to paint chrome you need Etching Primer, and I'd use 180 grit to remove ALL of that paint and rough it up.

You know you need cobra fuel rails too right? And you'll have to relocate your cruise module if you plan on keeping cruise control, you'll also need a custom bracket for the cables

It'll be alright.

The trim can be removed, but it will be far less time consuming to take care of it with it still attached to the car.

Alright I'll just lave it on then and do it that way

As far as the cobra intake going on I was under the impression the stock rail would be fine so long as you don't plan on retaining egr although it being a tight fit and that the stock tbody bracket can be modified to fit, I've read just about every articler on the install but correct me if I'm wrong

Correct.

you can use goof off and an sos to take off the paint.or like thaywood said, dremel or cordless drill with scotchbrite or non abrasive pad so you dont scratch chrome. hell i bet nu finish scratch remover would work with a little elbow grease or cordless with pad on it. i rubbed a yellow parking pole a year ago that left a dent and ALOT of yellow paint that came off
