My son is home from Japan, and back into his Mark. We took a few pics.

Holy banana's those tip's are big. No offence, but i'm not a big fan.

I had the same tips on my car for a few days and I hated them! Got them from a hyndai tiburon then put on new ones! :-)

Looks like x-mas!

Good show, I bet hes happy as can be with his LSC. :)

Are you close to that huge wildfire going on now? I havent been able to get ahold of SVO and he lives right in Bastrop. :(

Those cars look beautiful together!

There's something about red and green.:D

Those are 2 of my favorite Gen 2 colors.

Thanks for the complements guys. He's loving the car. Another two weeks home, and it's off to sunny California for him and the car.

Please tell me that car still has all its smog stuffs.

If it doesn't pass CA emissions, the car won't be allowed on base. However, the licensing and registration can remain TX as long as he's in the service.

Service members are exempt as long as the car is registered out of state.

That's true everywhere except CA. California is special and vehicles must pass CA emissions to be allowed on base.

"A smog certificate and proof of car insurance is also required to register vehicles and obtain a base decal. This applies whether your vehicle is registered in California or out of state."

Sorry Ed, you are wrong there. As long as the vehicle is registered, out of state vehicles Are Not subject to California emissions. I just confirmed with the front gate at NAS Lemoore. ;)

Thanks for the heads up. I need to get a hold of them so that they can conform with the rest of the bases in CA. CA DMV website says military installations are not exempt from smog inspection.

Here's more information.

You probably got misinformation. Most of my Navy retirees has also confirmed this for me as well. NAS North Island, Naval Station 32nd St. I've been in for 20 years, and retired, and have always had Texas plates my whole time. But that is neither here nor there. We are all good.
