Copper or Platinum plugs?

Iridium's are a great choice due to their physical construction (Fine Wire) and the properties that the electrodes are made from.

"Iridium is a precious metal that is 6 times harder and 8 times stronger than platinum, it has a 1,200°(F) higher melting point than platinum and conducts electricity better. This makes it possible to create the finest wire center electrode ever. Champion is the worst company for spark plugs. You could not pay me to use their crap.
 
No one was advocating a brand. Just getting some of the technicals out there. I also used to call on the company as well so I have some familiarity with the manufacturing process.

not one word on proper gap in a plug thread?:shifty:
ive gone through 2 motors faster than most people change their socks, let alone plugs! had platinum +4 in, still look good, but may go 764 now don't know

I iwill add the Nitrous plug rule of thumb is use copper only. You don't want stuff that can get knocked off the plug(platinum parts) you also don't want fine wires that can melt easy. Case in point put large log in fire takes forever to burn put thin stick in there and it burst into flame.

Gaps should be .054 right? N/A
 
also my +4 didnt have to do gap, came 14mm thread, .708 reach like all the rest BUT the 764 has a .807 reach is that the advantage?.090 closer?

+1. I know stock packs are about the best for almost any mods, but I don't know much about COPs; Accel Coil Packs are worse than stock (I'll have to find the link to the testing).
 
I junk next im gonna pick up some motor craft coils. Oriellys has them for 100 a piece but I'll search around till I get paid again.
 
What about the coils labeled under the performance coils. Msd? I'm sure it's only half true because there cheaper than mc
 
The non COP MSD coils kick ass. Even the COP ones do but they dont last long. Never heard anyone complain about the coil pack MSD though.
 
either way will they fit under the cover? msd cop's are the same $ anyways. ive used their control boxes 6al and coils and wires before in other cars

Will they fit? Uh, they were designed SPECIFICALLY for the Ford DOHC Modular cam cover.
 
well i was gonna replace mine today, the car has 80k and i dont know the last time the plugs were changed because i bought the car in september. what plugs came from the factory? anyway i pulled the plugs and had planned on using some 764's but they didnt look right, had the wrong gap (.035ish) and the ones in it looked good still. heres some pitchurs for those of you who dont know what these look like lol

Those Autolites don't look bad, but they did not come in it from the factory. If I was to guess, they probably have about 20-25k on them - they look pretty good. You're right, those gaps on the 764's are too small and plugs should always be gapped b4 being installed anyways.
 
They were not designed for an LS.

So to make this easy, yes they fit. Ive had them in a Cobra and its the same VC.
