Cobra calipers

For those with Cobra calipers. Post up some pics. Did you leave on the "COBRA" name or did you grind it off?

Roushe is worth leaving on. I could go either way on the word Cobra. On the ford calipers, is "Cobra" raised or recessed lettering? What would be cool if it is raised is to grind it down and then have 'Lincoln" CNC engraved. Then highlight it in a different color.

Mine are raised letters. They're the 10th anniversary edition red powdercoated ones. I'm currently at work, so no pics though.




Right now, I'm trying to decide whether or not to leave the "Brembo" on the side of my next mod....

Grind off the raised Cobra Letters?

The "cobra" calipers with the raised cobra letters are worth MUCH more then the standard dual pistion pbr's so if you find a set, dont grind em down! Sell them!

Alot of people buy the smooth calipers and get the "cobra" decal put to save the money of locating and finding the raised cobra units.

New I think the smooth calipers and bullit callipers are around $300 bucks

I have the ford racing, 10th anniversary "raised cobra" red calipers on mine and picked them up for around $650 new or so off ebay awhile back, only set I could find in the country at the time.

Why would a 2 piston caliper be worth MUCH more than a 4 piston style just because of some lettering?

I think he mis-typed. They're worth much more than the standard 2-piston PBR's. They're more highly sought-after.

I haven't seen anyone try the 05 newer shelby 14.whatevers yet, but the
13" cobra's-yes.

With properly sized/offset/spoked wheels, larger kits should fit as well.

The way I figure it, they came off a Mustang first and foremost, and they don't say Mustang. "Cobra" is a high performance version of it. I wouldn't have the calipers with the ponys on them, but the "Cobra" is fine with me. And yes, it would be a damn shame to grind them off. Those calipers are no longer available new, so treasure them. That's the story I'm sticking to.

the set on my car has the indented letters.
the set under my bed has the raised letters.

any difference?
they both have the 38mm pistons. so i guess not.

Chris your bed must be pretty fast to need brakes!
