I have a message into Maxx but hes off till Monday.

American Air is $392 shipped.

Parts Galaxy is $402+ shipping.

Ford Parts is $403 + shipping.

I want OEM because both rears and the front drivers are all new OEM already and also it will be nice not to have to worry about it for several years.

Nevermind, when I searched I was searcing for "air springs" or "suspension" on here. I just searched "struts" and found Wardens thread that says Maxx has them for $370 shipped. Guess I will wait till Monday to order one.

Sorry guys..... free posts. :D

hey Laser...sorry I always take this day of Jan off....I think the price is about right but to be sure Ill check on monday and reply then.
Have a great weekend.

Thanks Maxx. Can you just call me after you get in on Monday and I will give you my CC number so that we can get it out as soon as possiable. Thanks mang.
Car is leaking fast enough to worry me now. Didnt leak not one bit for a week and all of the sudden it was nose down this morning and having it sit in my parking lot here with the system off it dropped a good 1/2" in a couple hours. I just went out and aired it back up.

why on earth would you go OEM? The aftermarket\rebuilt ones have a MUCH better warranty.

god you have the worst of luck!

But yea i'd go with a a/m strut. But i can understand why you all want them to match. Just think though, if that one went out the rest(moreso the front) will be soon.

The other bags are all new. The drivers is a month old and the rears are a year old and they are all OEM and bought/installed at the dealer.
Thats the only reason I am gonna buy another OEM instead of two Arrnots. Well that and the fact that it should be damn near ten years before I have to mess with them again. :)

EDIT: Also I was expecting it and even told the guy that when I bought it. He said three were new and I laughed and said "I am sure the other one will fail next week." It did.

they have a much better warranty because they know they sell you :q:q:q:q right off the bat lol. after market are doo doo, but 370+ per side dammmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!

PS, I dont want used. Even with low miles the rubber is still aged.

I went with Arnott. I know, I know, they're crap. But at $186 apiece and free shipping, that's all I could afford. And I want to keep my air suspension. They have a 1 yr warranty. So they should be about ready to crap out since I bought them last January:rolleyes: . But I did take one precaution. I coated the inside of the air spring with Green Slime. I don't know if it will keep them from leaking or not. But it was worth a shot. I know the stuff works on tires. I figure maybe it will keep the dryrot cracks from leaking over time. Also, I've had a set of Arnotts before. About 5 years ago. They both crapped out after just over a year. Then I went with a pair of used OEM air spring/shock units and they lasted several years. Then I bought Arnotts again. The new Arnotts appear to be of much better quality than the ones they made 5 years ago. I just hope they last...knock on wood. I can't afford $400 bucks apiece. But the good thing is, if I do have to replace them, I can do it myself in less than one hour in my driveway. That's one thing I love about the Mark VIII's front suspension. Easy as pie to change the shocks. And since it's an upper and lower control arm setup instead of McPherson struts like the old Mark VII's, you don't have to worry about re-aligning the front end when you're done. Sweet.

Let us know how long they last with the new design.

I will. So far, they're doing fine. Again...knck on wood. They still ride great and they don't leak down at all. It's even been in the low teens over night around here for the past couple of weeks and they don't drop at all even with the cold temps. Hopefully, they'll last for a while.:)

i dont know about the new arrnots but the old ones were complete sh it. i think the only diff is the top cap.

???

when did you do this?

last january?

Yep. I put the green slime in the air springs immediately before I installed them. I know it probably won't make any difference, but I figured it was worth a shot. At the very least, it may settle to the bottom and help keep the forthcoming dryrot cracks around the fold from leakng. Hopefully.

True. The first pair I bought barely lasted 13 months. They went bad shortly after the warranty ran out. Go figure. But the new ones actually do look quite different from the old ones. The top cap is different. It's made of machined aluminum. And the springs actually look like they are made of better grade material than the old ones. But again, we'll see.
