what beefy rear mount are you taling about, the steel mount that is bolted with 2 bolts to the rear pumpkin cover??????? i hope thats not what you are talking about because it would make wayyyyyyyyyyyyyy more sense to lift from under the entire bottom of the diff case than to jack it up and put amazing amounts of stress on 2 bolts that are bolted to the thin aluminum diff cover!!!!!

Placing the jack here doesn't place any additional load on the diff cover.

Not if you catch it at the point directly under the sub frame.
