I just purchased a blend door and it will be arriving early next week. Is there any other things I should tackle when doing that?

Also is there any specific type of ac recharge that I should use? I'm going to recharge the AC to make sure everything is up to snuff.

Lastly any good tips for doing this? A few threads in my search said to not worry about seeing the bolts that they are easy to feel, and also that the bolt in the upper left quadrant will be the hardest. Is there any writeups on how to do this? I have no clue?

There are many write ups covering this. I will assume your search button is broken and help you out.
You should also replace the heater core since you are in there and at some point it will leak if it has not already.

As far as R-134A goes I prefer that stuff in the silver can with the synthetic boost. It will say something like "Up to 30% cooler!" Its not quite that much but I have used it on 30+ cars and the stuff does allow the vents to blow about 5-6* cooler. So far every one I have done has told me the AC blows colder then it ever has since they owned the car new.
When I did my Mark on a 101* day with about 70% humidity the temp coming out of my vents was 34*F Very cold indeed and if the humidity was lower then I would have been a couple degrees colder.

The most important thing is to put a good vacuum in it first! Go to Autozone and get the synthetic recharge kit for around $40. It will come with the synthetic R-134 with the booster and the right AC hose/gauge.
You can rent the vacuum pump from them for free and use the hose the kit comes with. Hook the pump to the low pressure side and make sure the valve is open on the hose that the kit came with. Leave it hooked up for about 15 minutes. After its done disconnect the hose and then turn the pump off.
Start the car up and put the AC on max. Shake the hell out of the bottle of R-134 and hook it up. Continue to shake the can as it fills being careful not to hurt the hose or connection. The system will not cycle with just one bottle in it but should start to cycle when half way through the second bottle. At this point keep an eye on the gauge. It will spike a few times but just keep filling it until the gauge is almost dead center on the green. If it goes higher then that stop filling! A higher pressure is not good and will cause the system to run hotter. You should have a small amount left in the second can if done properly.

I tried searching but got a lot of haphazard threads that were always a question, with a few half answers, a few jokes, and nothing else.

Thanks for the walkthrough on the ac, that will DEFINITELY help!

I really need a walkthrough on the blend door. anyone have that?

LOD has a writeup... but it makes you do stupid not required things...

And it leaves out things like taking out the message center which makes things super easy. After doing 3 of these it is a walk in the park.

Still waiting for someone to point me to a thread or writeup on the blend door install. I have no clue where it is, what to do, or anything. Anything???

i'll do your blend door in 90 minutes for $150, dealer gets nearly a grand to do it, and it most likely will take you a minimum of 4 hours. you can sit and wait while i do it.
