Sound clip? If you remove the resonators and add an x pipe it will get louder but not as loud as just mufflers only

Hard to tell but just picked up some SilverStar Ultra bulbs for the lows and highs. And regular SilverStars for the fogs. Really like the color for now it looks updated.

I would have gone with a DDM H.I.D. kit for the same price or cheaper. I just put a kit in my friends car that had SilverStars.

The lows are the SilverStar Ultra which are the "brightest and whitest" light bulb they offer. Much better than the SilverStars which I had installed in my highs on my tC.

I would never just buy a conversion HID kit for non-projector style housings. Too much glare for my taste plus it doesn't really enhance the light output just the color. I was sponsored by Umnitza and I know alot of companies make a big range of HID kits from ballasts, to bulbs, to the wiring harness. You get what you pay for. Even an overpriced bulb is going to perform better than an underpriced HID kit.

I don't have a sound clip yet. I'll have to borrow my girlfriends Flip. And what do you mean exactly just mufflers only? Not as loud as if I kept everything and removed the mufflers?

I really don't want to make it louder. Just a more distinct sound I guess I should say. I'm not looking for a loud rumble but more a "tuned european grumble" Lol! I really don't know how to explain it. Just not over the top

Thats why the Bassanis sounded appealing. But if its more benificial to install an x-pipe and upgrade the cats first I will. I planned on upgrading the exhaust anyways this just saves me a little money knowing its already half done. I just want to make it right now.

If you want a little more volume, take out the resonators and install an x-pipe. An x-pipe quiets the exhaust a little but not as much as resonators. You might be good with that "h" pipe that is there though, but you could always add the x if you want instead. Or you can go with different resonators, maybe aero turbines.

The xpipe and straight pipes will give you that sound you are looking for i think.

You think a magnaflow replica x-pipe would do the job? I mean really theirs not much R&D involved in an x-pipe. It looks the same internally and externally, just cost $50 less.

And straight pipes you mean losing the resonators and throwing in an x-pipe? The piping is 2.5 from the cats back. I wouldnt be expensive at all to get that done.

yeah cut out the resonators and weld and xpipe up front like what im running.

No, that will give him a loud mustangish sound.. ;) I think X-pipe and maybe Borlas will give a euro kinda sound imo..

I dont think mine sounds as loud as a mustang.

Not the idle anyways.....under throttle yeah it does lol.

Wow thats expensive...my magnaflows were only $70 each on ebay.

In my opinion if you have some good sound now dont mess with it.

you may not even like the sound and want to put the dynomax ones back on.

Thats just it I'm not really to happy with the sound. Its not that loud and would like it a little louder.

Well if I didn't like it would anyone be interested in some barely used Borlas? Lol

These are the ones I found and I think the ones I would need.

Ima redo my exhaust video with the camera in that position see if it sounds any better.

Yup I'm sold! I was waiting for what to spend some of this rim money on. I'll pick them up and use clamps to put them on at first. If I don't like the sound I'll change them out. And I'll talk to my welder see how much he'll charge to just throw the x-pipe in for me.

Those Borlas sound awesome thats almost the exact tone I'm going for.

Straight pipe means no resonators, and no mufflers, just pipes from the cat, which is pretty loud.I say try out resonator delete and an x pipe first, it will be cheaper, then if you dont like it, just install those borlas with the x-pipe you'll have on.

If you want a louder exhaust, I doubt you'll find it with borla. I wasn't happy with the volume when I had them. I went from stock mufflers, to borla, to flowmasters, to magnaflows, and now bassani. Out of the 4, bassani wins, no doubt.

Borla is very close to the magnaflow sound, both sound european but I from I remember, magnaflows were a little louder. Borla were the first aftermarket mufflers I had.The sound was nice, european, but they were not very loud. I took of the resonators with the borla mufflers and the stock h-pipe the ls comes with. I was not satisfied with the sound so I went with flowmasters after just 2 months to get more volume. At first I only had the flowmaster mufflers installed, but it was way too loud without resonators, so resonators went back on. It sounded loud enough in terms of volume with resonators, but the sound quality was alright. Then I went with new 2.5'' pipes from the cats,no resonators, x-pipe and magnaflows installed. The sound itself was very nice, but the volume was not what I wanted. The thing I didn't like about the magnaflows, it seems that they wouldn't get louder after about 3000k-3500k, which sucked when I got on it and wanted to hear the exhaust. It sounded like it just stayed the same after 3500k and on. A few months ago I bought bassani mufflers and just swapped out the magnaflows for the bassani. Bassani has like a european with a slight muscle car sound and good volume. I am very happy with these mufflers. They get louder and louder through the whole rpm band, which is how a muffler should sound.

If you want to be different, try out corsa mufflers, haven't seen an ls with those.

I have straight pipes in place of the resonators and it opened up the magnaflows quite a bit.

ive also noticed it getting louder...i guess as the gaes coat the inside of the pipes and mufflers the sound gets deeper and louder.

Yeah, taking out the resoantors will make your exhaust louder. I have heard you need to "break in" the mufflers to get them to their final volume. You need to "break in" the packing inside.
