So today I figured I would try and find why the ASHAM would sometimes shut off and also put it in its new home since my wire showed up.
Downside is it no longer powers up at all. It seems the small harness intercept board is bad and has a couple intermitant connections on the board tracers. I emaild the maker and asked if he can send me a new one. For now its bypassed.
So on to work. I wanted a nice place to mount the module but could only come up with one place that isnt so bad. Inside the center console.
I pulled it all apart and made some reliefe cuts in the basket to allow the lower ASHAM board to slide into.
Also drilled a hole for the wires:
Ran the wires through and got ready to hook it all back up again:
Here it is in place. The module is a perfict fit width wise for the console:
Then I took an old CD changer cover and trimmed it to fit then drilled the holes and cut out the display opening. Its not perfect as I trimmed a little too much off the left side but it works for now and helps to give a better "finnished" look.
