Well I got around to doing my filter and fluid change on my 95 LSC. I was thinking it would take about 6-7 qts from what I have read but I drained 11.5 qts out of the T/C and the trans. I let it drip until nothing else was in there, but did not pull the cooler lines, just the T/C plug and pan/filter.
Is that the normal amout? I only had 9 qts on my when I did the change and it is slipping and not reading on the stick. Of course I know thats because its low.
How many should it take to refill the T/C and trans? I shifted slowing through the gears and it seems to shift quicker than before (I think someone put ATF in it when the last service was performed) .
What is the proper proceedure to ensure the T/C gets filled? Shift through grears with a 2-3 second pause in between? Yes Im refilling with Merc V.
Thanks!

not sure exactly how much but that sounds close. when we flush them at work we use 14qts, but some of the new comes back out

Sounds about right. I usually put half in (5-6 qts), run it through all the shift positions 2-3 seconds each then put half of that amount in and repeat. I keep repeating until I'm putting in 1/2 quart increments to be able to read it on the dipstick. Then I'll drive it a bit to get up to temperature and pull back in to recheck the level hot. Usually it will take another 1/2 quart, sometimes not. But when it's all said and done there's usually 11-12 empties.

Thats cool. There was no clear answer on this site..I searched.
Now there is.
I just felt like I was over doing it. I got 10 in and its doing better but it got dark so Ill finish up in the morning.

Im doing spark plugs in the morning also, Any quick tips? How about an air baffle removal link?
I cant thank this forum enough for how much it has helped me and how much Ive learn about my new ride and Ive only been here about a week.
ROCK ON LVC!!!:yourock:
