abs sensors question? check traction and abs lights

I could be making this up but wanted to ask you guys, i thought we couldnt get abs sensors for the rear of the gen 2? or was it just 98?

I see they are available new on some parts websites..can anyone point me in the direction of how the system works and what the system consists of?

I need them for the back because i keep getting the check tc/abs light and im pretty sure we pulled codes and thats what it was but i cant remember. I just got the car back after having it parked for a year. Body work is done. Feels great to have it back but must get new tires / wheels/ hubswapped and these sensors fixed.

Sometimes when its wet, sometimes right away, sometimes I can go an hour or more and nothing.

It's been a year since i had it on the road, just got it back a week ago. Last time we pulled codes on my buddy's scanner i thought it said something about rear abs sensors but its been awhile so i could be mistaken.

No, they are on 17" rims but all the tires are the same size and its like almost identical to stock height.

I didn't think about the different gen issues, but what I was referring to how a 1st gen abs pump cycles at 19mph to make sure the pump spins. My pump is bad ATM, and it does that right now, both lights come on the first time you hit 19 in a drive cycle...

I appreciate it, do you have used ones? I just would like to know what sensors are so hard to get and if there is a tech without a scanner i could figure it out.

When im hubswapping my buddy has a big money snap on scanner and we will pull codes...but i'd like to have the parts to put in and fix while its on the lift...and i cant have it scanned before hand because its down right now due to the compressor being out and the rear slammed up on 2x4's

the abs sensors for 93-97 front or rear are all the same and you can still get them new. its 98 you cant, front or rear, but 93-97 are all the same. i have a bunch or rear abs sensors for 93-97 in my garage.

Good to know. Thats ridiculous they changed it in 98. Whats different, the plugs?

Ofcourse this 98 is a curse in some ways trying to get parts cause I know I have a front and rear sensor that's toast...figures

the pick up on the 98 sensor is 3 times the size of 93-97 and i think the wire config in the plug is different.
