9 hours of pure hell! Lots of progress pics.

post the pic of how you switched them around, I am trying to figure out the correct way vs the way you did it first

There are two places the strut rod bushings go on. On the inside (toward the inside of the car) and the outside. He put the outside bushings on the inside and vice versa. They look alike but the inside bushings have a nipple on them while the outside do not. (NOTE: outside = toward the back
)

Mine just showed up from rockauto and I'm holding them in my hand. ;) If someone wants to confirm this that would be great.

The way the previous owner did it is wrong. In this picture is the outer bushing but he made it the inner bushing.

So I installed it the same way. But alas it was wrong so you see that bushing does not go there. The inner bushing is the one sitting on my bench:

Now that is if you use the Duralast bushings. If you use the OEM ones they look a little different but they mount the same way.

Now it only took me 45 minutes to swap them this morning on my back.
If you have a ball joint tool then its even easier.

1. Jack up the nose and put stands under the subframe rails.
2. Take off the front tires.
3. Remove the cross brace that goes in front of the strut rod ends. (not needed if using an open end wrench but a ratchet is faster)
4. Use a 30mm socket and remove the nut, washer and bushing on the front of the strut rod.
5. Remove the strut rod stopper on the LCA side and then the nut, washer and bushing.
6. Remove the lower strut mount bolt.
7. Remove the lower ball joint. If you do not have a ball joint tool then do step 7b instead.
7b. Remove the LCA bolt to frame.
8. Drop down the LCA and slide the strut rod out.

The left one is the outer most bushing (front end of rod towords the nose of the car.) and the right one is the inner bushing. (back of the front of the strut rod facing the steering rack)

Just got back from the alignment shop and finally got to really test it out through the twisties. Very very nice! :D When it hits bumps that it used to swallow you do get a bump now but very minor and really its more communicative then anything. No more sea sickness on dips at high speed and throwing it into a corner puts a big smile on your face.
I entered a corner at 70 that I know it a tad too fast. I had the OD off so it was in third and had the TC off. I purposely jerked the wheel because I wanted to toss the rear out and catch it to see how well it responds. To my surprise I was just slammed into the door as the car instantly went the direction I turned and did not kick the back out at all! Not even a slight chirp from the tires. I am just floored! The car handles so damn good I cant get over it. The alignment guy really knew how to use his machine too. He asked if I wanted modified settings cause he did my Cobra and I told him the specs I wanted. I told him just use the stock specs and add -.1 camber in the rear. I watched him and he wouldn't settle for "in spec", he made it dead center in spec. I was able to go for 1.6 miles without touching the wheel once. :D

Quick Question moog # k8680 is the Strut Rod Bushing Kit? Looking to replace due to play tonight thanks..

i dread overhauling my front suspention on my 95. i need everything but could only afford the drivers side upper control arm cause thats the worse one. i cant wait to get rid of that damn clunking sound!!!

Dawkins: The Moog is not reccomended for the strut rod bushing replacement. Only use OEM ones so call Max, hes teh man and will hook you up. The only thing besides OEM that I would use is the poly ones from SCP but sometimes I just dont know about that place.

Someone on here just got his headers from him after 3 months and my front support braces still have not arrived after 10 weeks. They were supposed to be done a month ago (he didnt tell me they were not in stock when I paid for them) when I called and as of yesterday he said they go for powdercoating on Monday.

I tell ya mang, its a night and day difference over the Sensa Tracks. I had them in the front and Gabriels in the rear and they were only a year old. The Tokico Blues are a crap load better! Dont get sea sick any more.

They were about $20 less when I bought them but still a good deal.

I am sure I am not the only one that got Moog Problem Solver Bushings on both my cars with no problems, because I trimmed the ferrels about 1/4". My DD has over 45,000 on them, and Whiner about 10,000 mi.
