Well I heard back from the Insurance company today, and the car is totaled. They are offering me $9,296.88 after taxes for the car which is better than I thought they would offer. The other drivers insurance company accepted liability for it so I didn't have to pay a deductible. Haven't accepted...

Fortunately I still have to stock grille, and airbox at home, that I could throw on there.

If it is totaled, I'm going down, and getting that grille back lol!

I think as much as you like your mechanic you are getting charged way to much. When this happened to my car, it cost me under $2,000.00 for a used motor with 30,000 miles on it, and that included the installation.

Mine started off the same way with it just happening once, and then it started happening all the time, and it was the master cylinder.

Oh I forgot that I have also replaced the master cylinder aswell.

Yeah I feel ya! on my 04 LS8 I have now done coils, DCCV, Degas Bottle, Wheel sensonr, and now my DCCV has gone again, thank god I don't need AC anymore, and my Degas bottle started leaking again last night, and I just replaced that last November so it hasn't even been a year yet.

I'm definitely going to go through insurance for this. Do you guys think I will need just the rear bumper cover?

It sounds like your alternator cant keep up with charging both batteries when you are driving. That fact that the Alternator is always reading 14.1 volts while at idol sounds like it is constantly trying to charge both batteries all the time, and when you start driving it is just to much power...
