Help Needed Diagnosing ABS & Traction Control Error

I thought it was strange that it didn't throw a code but figured maybe because the ODB light gets reset (and retested) each time you start the car had something to do with it. I'll do my homework and see what I can find. Thx!

Help Needed Diagnosing ABS & Traction Control Error

Nope, two strikes.... 1) no codes 2) its a 98... =( I'm hoping I can just pull the fuse to disable the abs until I figure it out. The testing it does every time I start out is very annoying until it gives up.

Help Needed Diagnosing ABS & Traction Control Error

I had to do some traveling for work and ended up leaving my perfectly running LSC under a cover in my driveway for a few months. When I returned and went for my first drive I was greeted with an ABS light and Check Traction Control warning message. I could hear and feel the ABS pump working. I...

    Climate Control Module Lighting

A couple of the buttons on my '98 LSC climate control panel no longer illuminate so I assume that they use individual bulbs of some type. Are these bulbs made to be replaced or am I better off just looking for another control panel? Thanks for the help!

Anyone have experience with Bad Gas in their Mark VIII

My '98 LSC is my weekend pleasure cruiser. For a little over 3 months however, she sat unused with a full tank of gas because of the pandemic. When I recently took her out of quarantine she started fine but seemed to stumble a few times on the highway both during acceleration and just...

    Blend Door Motor Modification

I seem to be having a senior moment and cannot find the links that discuss how you can reinforce the connection on the blend door motor to help prevent it from splitting. Can someone please point me in the right? I was thinking of using hose clamp this time around. Thx!

    Blend Door Motor Recommendations

Thanks for the info! I have a 98 LSC and thought about doing something to reinforce the coupling (zip tie, hose clamp, etc.) but was afraid that would just result in breaking something else that would be even harder to get to.

    Blend Door Motor Recommendations

I replaced my blend door motor almost exactly 2 years ago only to have it break again recently. Like the previous time, the coupling on the motor split. My question is is there one particular brand of motor (ie., Standard, 4 Seasons, GPD, etc.) that is supposed to be better than the others? I...

Help! Passenger Side Mirror No Longer Lowers

For some reason, my passenger side mirror will no longer lower when I shift into reverse on my 98 LSC. The driver side still works fine. I also noticed that I can adjust the passenger mirror with the adjustment switch so I'm assuming that the internal motor is okay and nothing is stuck. I...

Advice Sought on Choosing Front Brake Components

I ended up going with Wagner. I had used them in the past on my other cars and they always seemed to work out well. Just took some time for my local PepBoys to get the parts.

Advice Sought on Choosing Front Brake Components

Gotcha and thanks to all for the help! I'm a regular at RockAuto but sometimes it gets confusing with all the choices and how they arrival at their economy, daily driver, and enhanced performance categories. Guess it's bet to stick with a name brand. I've always had good luck with Wagner and...

Advice Sought on Choosing Front Brake Components

I have a sticky front passenger caliper so I decided to have my front brakes redone with new calipers, pads, rotors, etc. Any brands or types of replacement parts that are recommended - or - that should be avoided? I was going to go middle of the road with some reman'd Cardone calipers, organic...

Getting Warm - AC High Pressure SW Question

I noticed my AC was not working on my 98 Mark VIII and decided to do some basic AC checks. When I jumped the low pressure switch the compressor did not come on so I thought it just needed a charge. When I checked however, my system was fully charged. Next, I decided to disconnect the high...
