I noticed my AC was not working on my 98 Mark VIII and decided to do some basic AC checks. When I jumped the low pressure switch the compressor did not come on so I thought it just needed a charge. When I checked however, my system was fully charged.
Next, I decided to disconnect the high pressure switch and the compressor kicked on and everything appeared to work normally (I checked the pressure on the high side and it was good).
I thought the high pressure switch was normally closed and just opened when the pressure got too high. In my case, it seems to be working the opposite way (i.e., when I unplug the connector the compressor comes on). Is my high pressure switch really the culprit or am I missing something??
Thanks in advance!
