GenI LSV8 Cooling System Overhaul Parts List

Yes, that would be what I saw as the car was in limp mode as soon as that warning illuminated. Good thing it happened when I was just putting through a gated community at 10 MPH. Thank you.

GenI LSV8 Cooling System Overhaul Parts List

2001 LS Sport V8. It's got 71,000 total miles on it. Thanks for the tip on the Doorman tank. I have all 4 of Doorman window regulators and they are doing great. Still have the original degas bottle but I believe its on it's way out. Those Ford plastic bottles are quite pricey $200 or so. This...

GenI LSV8 Cooling System Overhaul Parts List

Question...Why does the coolant need to be Zerex with the '01 hydraulic cooling fan ? I also have a question regarding to coolant (degas) recovery tank. I'm finding Doorman has them but without the "low level sensor". My question is, are there two part numbers for the bottles, with or without...

GEN I - Understanding Climate Control System - No Heat Information

I'm wondering what the ABS control module has to do with the HVAC system first posted toward the end of the diagrams. Anyone?

A/C Problem - blowing hot air

From my investigations on the web, the GEN I LS's did have the outside or cold air bypass door. There are drawings for the 2000-2002 models and the actuator is located forward of the center console on the right of the evaporator core.

    compass mirrors? 2001 ls

These LS's have a very sensitive electrical system I've found so that might be worth a try. It's amazing these cars will not operate normal if the battery is below spec even though your alternator is putting out normally. Thx for input.

    External temperature sensor

QuickLS: Still have an LS? I have 01 LS8 Sport and was charter member with Brian Gowlings LLSOC way back. Went to the Auto Cross in Irvine when Lincoln set us up. Regarding this thread, are those exterior sensors typically failing. Ours is mostly accurate it seems yet on some days that are...

    compass mirrors? 2001 ls

2001LS8Sport....I have the compass version with rain sensor and the compass display shows a mix of various symbols. Sometimes it displays the direction correctly, not often. The other displays in this mirror work fine. Any idea what is the fix? The mirror, the upper mounted electronics or...

    2006 LS V8 10k Miles - For Sale

Rather interesting used LS. Can't tell what trim it is. A sport or premium or ? Looks unused on the dealers website...with those miles, I'd hope it sat inside vs. outside.

Changed Timing Chain Tensioner But Keep Hearing The Same Noise

Those tensioners operate from oil pressure. When not running, the tensioner retracts I believe. When engine oil pressure is present, the tensioner has more force to push on the chain. From what I have read, opinions vary but the best practice in replacing these is to buy a chain tensioner kit...

    Vacuum Leak at PCV elbow?

The valve cover gaskets that fit around the spark plug well are the problem, not the coils. Oil seeps into the spark plug well area and when enough oil is built up, the coil boot that attaches to the spark plug decides to short out to ground which just happens to be the engine oil building up...

    I broke something...not sure what

One dealership called it a "Steering Column Position Sensor". I think the correct description would be Potentiometer or rheostat. I'm pretty sure this part is used only when using the memory functions for the steering wheel, outside mirrors and seats. If you look at it closer, there is a metal...

    Transmission fill easy as pie

Some have said the valve body did the fix rather than the solenoid pack. There's a revised valve body too.

    Transmission fill easy as pie

For the most part, I believe Lincoln's idea was to herd most owners to a shop for transmission service and truly because they most likely wanted a filter replaced anytime there was any fluids being drained and refilled. It really is a great idea to do a fluid and filter change all at the same...

    Ignition Coil Question

Those ignition coils don't normally go out. What does happen though, the valve cover gaskets leak, the little round ones around each spark plug port, 4 on each bank. When they leak, oil builds up within the spark plug galley an then it pools when enough seeps in there. Next, the spark plug...

    Lincoln ls Alternator

HO Alternator's With late model cars, I would be very particular about replacing the alternator with another that has tons more ampers. Why? The wiring/loom/PCM are all configured for the stock output. Wire gauge mostly. Manufactures engineer the wire gauge for just what they install thus...

LLSOC Air Intake.. Anyone try it?

I'm in CA and now deal with the smog certs every two years. I have the LLSOC sold V8CAI cold air intake from 2003 on my 2001 V8 LS and just recently, the technition was asking me where the "sticker" is for the air intake. I told him this intake has been through a few smog certs and no one has...
